Kirksville Community Chorus Rehearsals begin
Singing since the age of six, Keeshea Pratt has shared the stage with several notable national figures including bluesman Bobby Rush, Eddie Cotton, opera singer Grace Bumbry, soul singer Musiq Soulchild, and gospel icon the late Reverend James Moore. Pratt has accomplished what few Mississippi based singers before her has ever achieved - the ability to attract fans from all walks of life without ever straying from the intricate roots that nurtured her award winning voice in the first place.
Draped with amazing style, class, and sophistication, Pratt takes you on a journey through all genres of music.
On January 21, 2018, The Blues Foundation out of Memphis, TN crowned Keeshea as the Queen of the 2018 International Blues Challenge (IBC). Simultaneously, at downtown Memphis’ Orpheum Theatre, Pratt and her brass-heavy Texas ensemble took home 1st place in the best band category. They released their debut album “Believe” that May.
Proceeds from this event will go toward the buddy pack program in Adair County to feed local students.

"The Revolutionists" is a play that combines hilarity with high-stakes drama about four real women during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. Olympe De Gouge was a playwright who was executed by guillotine for expressing her dissenting opinions. Charlotte Corday was the young woman who assassinated Jean-Paul Marat, a major player in the worst excesses of The Terror. Marie Antoinette is the former queen in the play, a big fan of ribbons and has moments when she is oddly prescient. The fourth character is Marianne Angelle, a composite character made up of real women who were revolutionary activists in what is now Haiti.
The four women spend their time brainstorming revolutionary plays and attempt to beat back extremist insanity in 1793 Paris. The women are united by their dismay over the way this hopeful people's revolution is now sinking into hyper-violent and hypocritical male rhetoric.
