This is a popular, weekly event at Good Luck Cellars (GLC) and one you must enjoy if you’re in the area. We make fresh sangria each week, featuring a GLC wine. We make a different recipe each week -- sometimes it’s white, and sometimes it’s red. During the colder months, we make a warm, seasonal version that’ll warm the soul :0)
When it’s gone…it’s gone…until the next Sunday, of course, when we make a new batch. Come Sip and Sangria with us.
IMPORTANT NOTE: SANGRIA IS NOT SERVED ON DURING THE CORKS & OYSTERS EVENTS IN APRIL & NOVEMBER.
The event takes us along King Carter Drive from the starting field on Wilshin Drive to Tavern Road at the Commons. This is a time honored Irvington event honoring local standout community members and patriotic fun on display.
We invite you to sign up to decorate as red, white, and blue as you can your vintage car, golf cart, bicycle, or dressing up your pet in the parade. Local businesses are encouraged to participate by submitting floats, a great way to really stand out from the crowd. Volunteers are also needed so if you would like to join in the fun be sure to click our volunteer link!

Take a Walk on the Wild Side with this monthly series of true nature walks. In July, we will look for mammals that live at Belle Isle State Park! Local volunteer naturalists will share a variety of natural history topics, point out aspects of the park's many habitats (ideal for plant and animal life viewing), and provide participants with nature-photography tips should they need assistance. The walk will be conducted at a leisurely pace to allow stops along the way to observe and discuss seasonal aspects of what is happening at the park. Be sure to dress for the weather, wear closed toe shoes appropriate for walking, and bring a water bottle. For more information or to find out where to meet for this month's hike, call the park at 804-462-5030. Pre-registration is required.
Step back in time with this exciting program in colonial Virginia history. Learn how to make a brick by hand, write with a quill pen and make a grave rubbing. Dig for artifacts, play colonial games, dress in 18th century clothing, and create a silhouette portrait. Build a brick wall, an arch with a keystone, and a roof truss. Enjoy a pizza party for lunch and take home souvenir bookmark, Museum Activity Book, and a knapsack.
