The goal of the Leavenworth-Lansing Area Chamber's Military Affairs Council (MAC) is to advance the pro-business climate in the area through military affairs initiatives, and to maintain and enhance the business community's relationship with Fort Leavenworth.

The Military Affairs Council works to grow and sustain not only Fort Leavenworth, but other Department of Defense operations in the area.  The MAC functions as a liaison between the local military and business communities, implementing programs which provide greater interaction between Chamber members and DOD/military personnel.  The MAC hosts various events throughout the year that help to further our community relationships and honor military service.

MAC Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month.

Military Affairs Council Meetings are open only to members of the Chamber of Commerce (or representatives thereof) as well as any members of military leadership.

Itโ€™s Back! The 3rd Annual Leavenworth Duck Hunt is Waddling Your Way! ๐Ÿค๐Ÿฆ†
Saturday, August 9th | 10 AMโ€“1 PM | Downtown Leavenworth

Thatโ€™s rightโ€”itโ€™s year THREE of our totally quackers scavenger hunt, and weโ€™ve got more clues, more chaos, and yesโ€ฆ even more ducks.
Whether youโ€™re a Leavenworth local or just here for the photo ops and pastries, you and your crew are in for a seriously silly downtown adventure. Expect twists, turns, goofy selfies, historical hijinks, maybe a rubber duck in a tutu (whoโ€™s to say?), andโ€”of courseโ€”PRIZES!

๐Ÿงฉ How It Works (a.k.a. The Duck Protocol):
Form a Team โ€“ 4โ€“6 people is ideal (larger families can stay together, but no teams of 47 Aunt Karens, please).
Donโ€™t have a full team? Find your duck soulmates on the Facebook event page or invite your new neighbor youโ€™ve awkwardly waved to 12 times.
Watch Your Email โ€“ The night before the event, youโ€™ll get your teamโ€™s login info. (Check your spam folder. Ducks are sneaky.)
Download the App โ€“ Itโ€™s a third-party app you'll need on one device per team with internet and camera access. (Yes, Grandmaโ€™s flip phone wonโ€™t cut it.)
Get Creative โ€“ Add your team name and photo to the app. There are points for creativity! Keep it PGโ€”weโ€™re duck hunting, not scandal hunting.
Check In at First City Creatives at 10 AM โ€“ Thatโ€™s your launch pad. Youโ€™ll pick up your game bag and top-secret instructions.
10:30 AM โ€“ ITโ€™S ON.
Clues go live in the app and lead you through downtown businesses, landmarks, and wild gooseโ€”er, duckโ€”chases. Bonus side quests pop up throughout the game to rack up more points!
1 PM โ€“ Return to Base
Meet back at First City Creatives for prizes, photo ops, bragging rights, and maybe some surprise giveaways. Didnโ€™t score top points? Donโ€™t worryโ€”random winners are a thing too.

A Few Gentle Rules (a.k.a. Please Donโ€™t Get Banned):
Yes, you can enter businesses (some clues require it!), but be respectful. No honking at baristas.
Teams must stay together. Itโ€™s called teamwork, not scatter-like-squirrels. Also, driving places, you know who you are.
Judgesโ€™ decisions are final. Even if you think your duck hat shouldโ€™ve scored more points.
Itโ€™s for FUN. We love competition, but this isnโ€™t the Hunger Games. Be nice, laugh a lot, and take photos you'll treasure forever (or at least until next year).

Quack us up with your best team name and come ready to explore! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿฆ†
More info and sign-up details are coming soon on our event pageโ€”follow along so you donโ€™t miss a thing!
Letโ€™s make Year 3 the most legendary Duck Hunt yet.

๐Ÿ… 5pm-8pm: Farmers & Makers Market
๐ŸŽถ 6:30pm-9:30pm: Live Music & Food Truck

Shop small and support local from 5โ€“8pm during the farmers & makers marketโ€”featuring fresh produce, baked goods, handmade crafts, and artisan finds. While you're downtown, be sure to check out our local storefronts & restaurants during their open hours; they keep the rhythm of downtown going โ€” on Fridays and every day in between.

Starting at 6:30pm, bring your lawn chairs, bring your people, and settle in for a summer rooted right here in De Soto.

๐Ÿšซ Outside alcohol is not allowed (Common Consumption Area rules apply)
๐Ÿป Alcohol available for purchase from participating downtown businesses
