WILD NIGHT, “the Official Band of Girls’ Night Out,” has been wowing Bon Jovi fans and building a loyal following in the New York Tri-State area since 2013. Featuring look- and sound-alike lead singer Alex Barbieri as “Jon Bon Jovi,” the band also includes pro musicians: keyboardist MJ, guitarist Marc Amendola, and drummer Rob Servedio. All four have decades of experience performing live at bars, clubs and theaters. They sing and harmonize live (no backing tracks), use top-of-the-line equipment, are responsible and business-minded—and bonus—they’re nice guys, too.

At a 1 WILD NIGHT show, you’ll hear all the classics spanning Bon Jovi’s remarkable 30-year career, from their break out single, “Runaway” to megahits “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Wanted Dead or Alive,” plus more classic hits by Def Leppard, Journey, Whitesnake, and more!

For the past three years, 1 Wild Night has played a steady calendar of live shows in the New York Tri-State area, including headlining The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie, NY, entertaining members of the Larchmont Shore Club and the senior cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, packing the Winery at St. George in Mohegan Lake, NY and the Shamrock Pub in Waterbury, CT multiple times, rocking the R.D. Madison Lyric Stage is proud to present the world premiere of a new play, Elegy for a Fallen Angel, by our artistic director, tenor Marc Deaton.

Mr. Deaton is no stranger to the role of playwright, penning his one-man show We Lived Only for the Music: Max Lorenz and the Third Reich, in 2018. In 2020, he premiered his memoir memory-play A Memory of Truth? with music by Nathaniel Baker.

After the great success of these works, Deaton again teams with Nathaniel Baker for original music for his latest play, Elegy for a Fallen Angel. The play explores the world of child neglect and abandonment as it intersects with a fantasy world invoked by angels and spirits of zealous beliefs in destiny, featuring new treatments of music of Henry Purcell and George Frederic Handel.

17th SHORELINE JEWISH FESTIVAL ON GUILFORD GREEN

Guilford, CT--The 17th annual Shoreline Jewish Festival will take place Sunday, August 13, from 12-5 PM on the Guilford Green. The festival features various styles of Jewish music, traditional and Israeli fair food (all kosher), Jewish book sale, vendors and crafters, and children’s crafts and activities.

“This festival celebrates Jewish life and living,” explains Rabbi Yossi Yaffe, director of Chabad of the Shoreline and coordinator of the event. “The music, the food, the entertainment--people of all ages and backgrounds enjoy it and have come to regard it as a Shoreline summer tradition.”

This year’s musical lineup features Fishel Bresler's Klezmer Ensemble, Tali Yess and Chillent.

Fishel Bresler and Tsibeles of Rhode Island are one of the New England's most popular klezmer bands and will play from 12:00-1:30 PM. Klezmer music is a mix of Balkans and blues, jazz and spirit, Jewish culture, prayer and history. Critics call Fishel's music "a rich and lively mix that laughs, cries, dances, soars and dives to reach the hearts and souls of his audiences."

Tali Yess will play from 1:45-3:15 PM. Yess is the son of the late great Jewish musician Moshe Yess, and he will play his father’s greatest hits, as well as original compositions and Chassidic melodies. “I am part of a generation that grew up with Moshe Yess’s music,” notes Rochel Baila Yaffe of Chabad of the Shoreline “Moshe created soulful music about the American Jewish experience, and the lyrics went straight to your heart. Tali is bringing this wonderful music to a new generation.”

Chillent returns to the Shoreline Jewish Festival by popular demand and will play from 3:30-5:00 PM. Fans describe this band as "SoulLive at a Jewish wedding" and "the klezmer Phish." With origins as a weekly jam session in their hometown of Pittsburgh, Chillent has grown and attracted lovers of funk, jazz, blues, and world music. “Chillent” is a play on the word cholent, a Jewish stew. Chillent lives up to its name, offering up a mix of original compositions, spicy jazz and funk covers, and novel interpretations of Jewish favorites.

Artists and artisans will sell a variety of Judaica, jewelry, clothing and artwork. Books of Jewish interest for both children and adults will be available for sale. Festival-goers can choose from a variety of (kosher) fair favorites, including pulled beef brisket, hamburgers, hot dogs, falafel (an Israeli fried-chickpea specialty), grilled chicken schwarma, potato knishes, fresh mini donuts, cotton candy, sno-cones and more. Children’s activities include inflatable bouncy fun, as well as Jewish-themed arts & crafts projects.

Sponsorship is provided by Mr. Boris Mizhen, Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven, Gladeview Rehab & Health Care in Old Saybrook, the Guilford Courier, Shoreline TMS & Interventional Psychiatry, Water’s Edge Resort and Spa.

Admission is free. Food, crafts and vendor items are for sale. You can also order tickets online before midnight of August 7, and pick up your envelope of prepared tickets in the express line at the festival. Artists can reserve a booth for the day for a fee of $85. To help sponsor this unique event, to reserve a booth, or for more information, visit www.ShorelineJewishFestival.com. Who Are We?

LAST LICKS is CONNECTICUT’S BAND OF THE YEAR 2019. Given that distinction from Governor, Ned Lamont.

LAST LICKS is a top shelf classic rock band based in central Connecticut. The band differentiates themselves from all other bands in the genre by pulling out the songs that are uncommonly played, yet very well known and loved. The band is talented, charismatic, and delivers a show that always leaves the audience wanting more.

LAST LICKS began as a 4 piece band when original bassist Steve Shore, formerly of Cryer/Oreo and assorted other well known CT bands, made an introduction to singer Bill Wilson, after running into Bill’s band in a CT night club. Guitarist Gray Fowler and drummer Joe Santucci all got together for a “jam” in January 2006. “From the very beginning of that afternoon, everyone just kind of knew something really special was happening”, says singer Bill Wilson.

This lineup of LAST LICKS played the CT club scene. from September 2006 until November 2008, when Steve was diagnosed with lung cancer and subsequently passed away a short time later. The band was devastated and questioned if continuing could ever pull off the kind of magic they had felt together, in their original state.

After playing a benefit concert in May 2010 with guest players in tow, Joe, Gray, and Bill asked bassist Remo Capello from Frantic City, and keyboardist Bruce MacPherson (Fleetwood Mac/Thunder Road/Dana Carvey Show and more) to join.

The new lineup debuted to a standing room crowd in downtown Hartford in November 2010. Encouraged by the positive response of that night, the band has made the committed decision to carry on. They are very inspired and thrilled at what the new LAST LICKS is creating. “We are like brothers. We fight and laugh, and really just dig each other’s company”, says drummer Joe Santucci. “Having keys in this version of the band opens a lot of doors in the way of new material”, states guitarist Gray Fowler, “We are thrilled to be back!”

“We have the most loyal fans of any band”, says bassist Remo Capello. “This band has a rich history of playing material that you weren’t expecting to hear, but feel excited as you recognize what the band is doing”.

“People have been great to us upon returning to performing. In addition to Gray, Bill and Joe being close with Steve, Remo and I both knew Steve as well. In fact I played on his solo CD. It’s funny how it all comes full circle” says Bruce MacPherson.

The band agrees that it was really special that everyone knew, loved and respected Steve, and they believe that they are carrying on his torch as they continue on in the band they created together. The players are very excited about the future. It doesn’t hurt that Bruce and Remo are monster players either, agrees Fowler, Wilson and Santucci.

The fans have been loyal to LAST LICKS and the band hopes that they will ALWAYS give back the same love to their fans as well. Without their support, it couldn’t have continued on as it did. THANK YOU!

LAST LICKS helped found and continues to support the The Steve Shore Recovery Trust (SSRT). The SSRT was established to help Steve Shore and his family financially as they worked through his cancer treatments. SSRT continues to honor Steve through support of the music healing program at CT Children’s Hospital and other SSRT beneficiaries through donations received throughout the year, and from an annual fundraising concert event. This is something that really makes a difference, but without our loyal friends and fans, it wouldn’t be possible.

LAST LICKS is currently playing shows throughout New England.

The graduates plan to join Vista’s long-term, community based Engage Program, continuing to develop themselves as they accomplish new goals.

Vista is honored to have Chef, Entrepreneur, and Theatre Director Neil Fuentes as the graduation keynote speaker. Neil is a familiar face with Vista’s A Shared Stage Productions.
