After being buried for two years due to situations beyond our realm of control, we are proud to revive our Grave Occasion Cemetery Tour & Dinner. This year we visit the historic Prattville Cemetery on the shores of beautiful Lake Almanor.

Both our dinner venue (local eatery Carol's Cafe is catering this year's dinner at the West Almanor Picnic Grounds) and the cemetery escaped the inferno of the Dixie Fire, and we look forward to gathering once again to uncover Plumas County history.

Join us for an intensive three-part bootcamp on small business financials. This bootcamp is hosted by financial expert and SBDC Regional Advisor Paul Bozzo. The goal is to do a deep dive into understanding essential small business financial concepts, key financial statements such as the income statement and development of cash flow projections. The Financials Boot Camp is designed for serious entrepreneurs ready to commit the time to take their financial skills to the next level.

Session #1: The first session is an introduction to small business financials. We’ll cover essential financial concepts with a focus on the ‘Big 3’ financial statements: profit/loss, balance sheet and cash flow. We’ll also cover the top 7 most important financial concepts that entrepreneurs need to understand to be successful.

Session #2: Session two will be a deep-dive into the most important financial statement – the income statement aka profit/loss. We’ll cover understanding your revenue drivers, key elements of cost of goods, calculating gross profit margin, business overhead expenses and net profit. You’ll leave session #2 with a comprehensive understanding of how an income statement works and how to use this information to improve your company’s profitability.

Session #3: Our third session will focus on understanding how to develop effective 12-mos cash flow projections. We’ll cover how to set up a budget using a simple Excel worksheet, make key assumptions for revenue and expenses, and how to project what your ending cash will be next month or 12-months in the future. This session will also cover practical and proven strategies to improve cash flow in any small business.

The National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) Firewise USA Program encourages local solutions for safety by
involving homeowners in taking individual responsibility for preparing their homes from the risk of wildfire. Firewise
is a key component of Fire Adapted Communities or a collaborative approach that connects all those who play
a role in wildfire education, planning, and action with comprehensive resources to help reduce risk. To save lives and property from wildfire, NFPA's Firewise USA program teaches people how to adapt to living with wildfire and encourages neighbors to work together and take action now to prevent losses. For more details visit nfpa.org

Having an organized accounting system is an important step in making sure your business runs smoothly and stays resilient. In addition to helping you see when your funds are not lining up, it also makes it easier to do quick reports when needed (such as applying for loans, relief grants, or doing taxes for the year). Whether you are moving your information from an Excel system to QuickBooks or have been using the basic settings of QuickBooks, this is a great way to gain more information about the most used accounting software.

Join us for one or all of the following sessions where you will learn the basics of using the online version of QuickBooks. From setting up your account for the first time to learning how to run reports.
