Get ready to plunge into a world of muddy excitement as your children tackle a whole bunch of exhilarating obstacles on a course spanning 0.4 to 1.6 miles depending on age!. From climbing to crawling, running to mud splashing, every moment promises excitement and challenge!
Our event caters to all ages with races divided into heats for four distinct age groups: 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, and 13-17. As participants advance in age, so does the intensity of the obstacles, ensuring an age-appropriate challenge for every young adventurer.
But the fun doesn't end there! Engage in the spirited Superhero School Bell competition, where students earn points for their schools by wearing costumes or proudly wearing their school colors. Plus, enjoy a variety of complementary activities guaranteed to entertain all.

Perhaps you’ve seen the incredible farm-inspired art up in Rich Bar Taproom and wondered how you could make it your own? Our Cultivate Art Exhibit will be featured at the June 7th “First Friday” at the Plumas Arts gallery. Art from this LSFP residency will be up for auction starting that night with bids accepted until June 28th!The auction includes prints by Amy Napoleon, paintings by Emma Talamantes, fanny packs by Rebecca Glaspy and a large hanging lamp by Presley Alexander. All of the art produced during the Cultivate project captures the essence of community connection to food, farms, and local relationships to land. And all the proceeds from the auction will directly support LSFP’s mission to increase food access and farm education in Plumas County.
This project was funded in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency, through the Upstate California Creative Corps Program.

Open Cab Days at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum!Come join us on June 8-9, 2024, Saturday and Sunday, for Open Cab Days! Several of our historic locomotives plus some other special equipment will be open for viewing and have docents on hand to help you explore them and explain their histories and features.
We will also be running our caboose trains those days, so you can enjoy a train ride in the Sierras and gets hands on with our historic equipment.
The Open Cab event is included with museum admission. Train rides are extra fare.
The Western Pacific Railroad Museum is located in Portola, California, near the headwaters of the Feather River. 700 Western Pacific Way. Museum is open 10 AM to 5 PM on weekends and train rides depart from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Open Cab Days at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum!Come join us on June 8-9, 2024, Saturday and Sunday, for Open Cab Days!
