The Trilogy Challenge, organized by Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64 and Westside Discs, is designed to be accessible to players of all skill levels. Participants will be provided with three discs — a driver, a midrange disc and a putter — and must complete the entire tournament using only these discs. The discs are new releases from the Trilogy brands, explain organizers, offering players an opportunity to try out new equipment.

An informational session and fundraiser to support the local hospice group will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the local brewery off Highway 70 in Blairsden. Representatives from organizations including Plumas District Hospital, Eastern Plumas Health Care and Plumas Grief Recovery, along with attorney Jennifer McQuarrie, will offer information and resources.
Attendees can also enjoy a prize giveaway, locally brewed ales, wines from Lost Sierra Wine Co., tacos and fries from the Ricochet Cafe food truck, and music by local artists including Dr. Jeff Kepple, Kelsey Kepple, Chris Retallack and Noah Dane. A portion of all beverage, food and merchandise sales — and 100% of giveaway ticket sales — will go to support hospice programs.

Feather River College (FRC) is excited to announce its annual College and Career Fair on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. The career fair portion will take place from 11 am to 1 pm. This community event aims to support local high school and community college students in planning their careers through education, job training, certification, or employment. We expect over 300 11th and 12th graders from Plumas and Sierra County high schools and current FRC students to attend.This event is a fantastic opportunity for you to share your knowledge and career experience with students. We are looking into having employer representatives offer demonstrations and display equipment and vehicles to engage students and feature their professions.
Previous participants reported that these discussions inspired, motivated, and clarified their future decisions. Local employers also experienced increased connections with students and improved success in recruiting future employees.
