Programs feature hands-on individual and group learning experiences in a fun, relaxed setting. Grade levels are the grade the student completed Spring 2024. SPARK! is cultural programming designed for people in early to mid-stages of memory loss to attend with their family or care partners. Programs feature interactive exhibit experiences in a welcoming environment with trained individuals who engage participants in lively discussions, object handling, and other multi-sensory activities. Programs are free and open to the public. These events are sponsored by the Shelby County Health Foundations and the Shelby County Community Chest.

Presenter: Shaun Sayres is a doctoral candidate at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts studying the role of steamboats in westward expansion. Closer to home, Shaun is also the Manager of the Danish Windmill in Elk Horn, Iowa and is passionate about the history of the environment and technology.
