The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that this year’s ¿Qué Pasa? Festival is taking place on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Brown’s Island. For over two decades, the VAHCC has showcased the diversity and beauty of Hispanic & Latin American cultures in the capital city of Virginia, bringing a cultural and educational experience. This event is free to the public and is held with the goal of showcasing local Hispanic & Latino businesses, artisans, restaurants, entertainers, and more.
Visitors will be able to experience an even more vibrant space that will bring the community together, all while showcasing the dynamic cultures, sounds, tastes, and feelings of Hispanic & Latin American countries. Dance the day and night away to our amazing live Latin music and prepare to be mesmerized by incredible performances by local favorites. Enjoy delicious Latin culinary staples, savory desserts, select beers, and specialty drinks. Stroll through our artisan market, featuring unique vendors, live artist exhibitions, homemade crafts, gifts, and more. Attendees can also enjoy some family fun in our Kid’s Area featuring educational installations with arts and crafts activities.

The Virginia Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity (SBSD) and the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are hosting a live SWaM Lab Workshop to assist with your business's SWaM application. We’ll go through the process from start to finish and upload the necessary documents.
The goal of this workshop is to get you across the finish line of the SWaM application process.
You need to bring your own laptop.
The list of required documents is attached below (named SWaM Supporting Documents), you should upload those documents onto your laptop.
Everyone should have their
- EIN – if you do not have an EIN you can get it from the IRS website, takes about 15 minutes -- https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/apply-for-an-employer-identification-number-ein-online
- Birth Certificate or Passport or Permanent Resident Card or Certificate of Naturalization
- Valid Driver’s License
The other documents are based on their specific situation.

Businesses are invited to participate in a unique opportunity to showcase and promote their services at the upcoming Fredericksburg Nationals COPA game. As part of the Copa de la Diversión initiative by Minor League Baseball, this event aims to foster a connection between the local team and the Hispanic/Latino communities in the area.
Businesses will be able to set up a table at the concourse and share information about their services with the attendees. This is a fantastic chance to engage with potential customers and establish valuable connections within the community.
Time: 3:30pm - 8:00pm

The tabling vendors will be set-up in the concourse, it will be first come first serve for location. Tables and chairs will be provided, but vendors are welcome to bring a popup tent, table cloths and any kind of information or giveaways to pass out.

About COPA: Copa de la Diversión is an initiative by Minor League Baseball to promote the sport and connect its teams to their Hispanic/Latino communities. Teams adopt a culturally-relevant on-field persona for certain games each season.

The Entrepreneurship 101 workshop is intended for start-up entrepreneurs who want to launch or grow a business in Fairfax County. The topics that will be covered include doing business in Fairfax County, business registration, business and property taxes, financing programs, licensing and certifications, local, state, and federal business resources, and other general topics related to starting and growing a business.
The workshop is free however registration is required.
