10/1/2021Inaugural First Responders Luncheon
Taking the place of our regularly occurring Membership Luncheon, this event will serve as the kick-off for a month-long effort by the Fenton Chamber to recognize and support our area’s first responders. The month will culminate with National First Responders Day which is Thursday, October 28th.

*** FIRST RESPONDERS ***
Your lunch is on us! Join us for lunch -or- grab your boxed lunch to go through a convenient drive-up system near the shelter. You are welcome to reserve your lunch ahead of time or just show up that day!

Lunch Fee:
$20 FACC Members & Non-Members
>> Includes Andre's West boxed lunch, beverages, and dessert
(A portion of the proceeds go to The BackStoppers, Inc.)

Group To-Go/Pickup Orders:
$15 each lunch if you order 10 or more boxed lunches. We will have your lunches gathered and ready to pickup, starting at 11:00am that day. Boxed lunches include sandwich, chips/side and dessert. You willl be able to select from available boxed lunch options.

10/5/2021Flu Shot Event at RiverChase
St. Luke’s Hospital, in partnership with City of Fenton, will be offering on-site flu vaccinations. The vaccines are quadrivalent and preservative free, and high dose flu vaccines are available for patients 65 years old and over. Enter pre-registration information on St. Luke’s website. Select appointment time and complete registration on Eventbrite. This clinic is open to City of Fenton employees, residents and RiverChase members.

10/10/2021MO CCW - Conceal Carry Class
The CCW course is designed for people who wish to obtain their concealed firearms permit or learn permitless carry safetylaws. The course goes over basic handgun safety and range rules, proper firing techniques, Missouri laws pertaining to concealed carry and live-fire at the range.
The morning session of the class will take place in the classroom.
Live-fire will be conducted in the afternoon.
Students are required to fire 20 practice rounds and 20 qualification rounds from either a revolver OR semi-automatic.
 
Certificates are issued upon successful completion of the course and shooting qualification.

10/16/2021FREE Skin Cancer Screening Event
This FREE screening event is part of the American Academy of Dermatologists (AAD) SPOTme Skin Cancer Initiative. The program offers the opportunity for healthcare professionals to educate the public about skin cancer prevention and early detection. FREE full body screen provided with signed consent. Appointments are required! Must be 18 years or older. Participants will be screened for COVID-19 upon entry. Masks are required and anyone not receiving a screening should remain in the vehicle.

Total body skin examination in a private examination room. Treatments will not be undertaken at that time, but those needing treatment will be referred to a dermatologist.

10/19/2021First Responder Appreciation: Coffee Event
October is a month-long effort by the Fenton Chamber to recognize and support our area’s first responders. The month will culminate with National First Responders Day which is Thursday, October 28th.

Your coffee and refreshments are on us in appreciation of all you do.

Event Fee:
$5 Donation to Backstoppers for all other attendees

Donation goes towards the purchase of coffee and refreshments for the First Responders Appreciation coffee event.

MONETARY DONATIONS
Monetary donations go towards various efforts by the Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce inaugural First Responders Appreciation Month. Throughout the month of October, we will show appreciation, support and gratitude for our area's first responders. Such uses for donations include: hosting events, donating lunch to hospital emergency room departments, supporting associated non-profit organizations, and more.

10/22/2021Jefferson College Trunk or Treat + Safe Fall Party for Kids
The family-friendly event is sponsored by Jefferson College student clubs and organizations, providing a safe environment that kids and parents can enjoy. It has become an autumn tradition in Jefferson County, attracting hundreds of participants each year. Trunk or Treat will feature a variety of free games and activities for kids up to age 12, prizes, hayrides, a petting zoo, a free bag of kettle corn and bottled water per child, and candy. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Various food trucks will also be on site with items available for purchase separately. They include Wayno's- Mobile International Cuisine and Picture Perfect Panini.
 
The event is one of many activities Jefferson College hosts each year in connection with its mission of community outreach, providing numerous age-appropriate experiences.

10/28/2021Electronics Recycling Event at Jefferson College Hillsboro
The Jefferson College Environment and Safety committee and Jefferson County will partner with Midwest Recycling Center to host an electronics recycling event, held as a public service in an effort to identify simple, practical ways to make the campus and the surrounding region more environmentally friendly.

All electronics and appliances are accepted. The basic rule is that MRC will accept anything electronic (even if it is broken). The only items not accepted are thermostats and light bulbs. For a list of all items that are accepted, free of charge, visit https://mrcrecycling.net/list.
