About Us
The Central Plumas Recreation and Park District was formed by a voter mandate in 1953. The District is dedicated to providing a wide variety of recreation and park opportunities to the residents of Quincy, Meadow Valley and the outlying areas located within its political boundaries.
The District offers a number of different activities and programs for both youth and adults, including, but not limited to: Swim lessons, pool rental, swim team, adult softball, tennis lessons, youth soccer, soccer camp, dog obedience, youth and adult basketball, and a jr. ski team. The District also manages Pioneer Park, Lowell Bader Park, the Quincy Skate Park, Pioneer Pool, and Pioneer Park Annex.
The District is governed by a publicly elected Board of Directors that meets in open session on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Funding for the District comes from a combination of sources including local property tax (60%), park and recreation activity fees (34%) and other miscellaneous sources (6%).
