The Physical Therapy Service at the Midwestern University Therapy Institute offers one-on-one, individualized treatments based on a thorough assessment of underlying movement or neuromuscular problems, along with home exercises and instruction in functional activities to maximize patients' involvement in their treatment. Our goal is to help patients return to the highest level of function and wellness possible through evidenced-based practice, compassion, and outstanding service. Experienced physical therapists diagnose and treat back and neck pain, joint pain and dysfunction, post-surgical orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, and neurological conditions such as stroke and acquired brain injury. Treatments include posture training, body mechanics, joint mobilization/manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, strengthening, flexibility, coordination training, gait training, relaxation/meditation, and specialized chronic pain treatments. The Therapy Institute houses one of only a few Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) virtual reality therapy systems in the United States.
