We consider bringing The AZ MIST to the west valley a very real, important, and historical undertaking. We offer a large and diverse section of well-deserving children and adults the same amenities and attractions that downtown Phoenix has. The west side comprises almost one thousand square miles with over one million people. Our desire is to add our place to the historical museums and World Zoo located in the west valley. By providing a hands-on science, and innovation center that can grow with the needs of the area we are giving back to the community where we grew up.

Technology is more abundant and the number of children and adults who are required to use it is increasing every day. We at The AZ MIST, have an obligation to serve and support the very programs we have voted into policy and funded in our schools.

The compelling drive to find one’s own way in the world is no less strong in those with learning and neurodiversity issues than in any other young adult. Few other “journeys” are more important, or more difficult than those of seeking successful adulthood. For many, the need to prove themselves remains strong throughout life. The LDI is a beacon of hope for older adolescents and adults who struggle with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, Autism spectrum disorders and other related conditions.

Together with a competent and dedicated staff of caring professionals, the program strives to achieve its Mission. The LDI staff and its administrators are devoted to actively work with and support parents who are eager for a place where their adult-child can thrive and succeed. Families look to LDI for hope and support, as seemingly there are few other viable resources for their children. LDI strives to ease the difficult transition for the parent from being their adult-child’s advocate to being a parent who can empower their offspring to become more independent.

The Singletons are devoted to meeting the needs of today, by providing strength, hope and community to single parent families battling cancer.

On October 23, 2005, the world lost a brave single mother to cancer. Her name was Michelle Singleton. 14 years later an entire community exists to honor Michelle's life. The growth of our Singleton family has been truly astounding. The Singletons (formerly Singleton Moms) began as a tribute to one brave, devout single mother of four. Today it has blossomed into a beautiful, heavenly tribute to the many cancer warriors who have walked the same journey as Michelle. We will never forget our matriarch and dear friend. We have faith that Michelle's kind giving spirit will guide The Singletons mission each and every day.

There are about 29,000 homeless people in Arizona - one in every 227 Arizonans. And an estimated 61% of them are in Maricopa County. Statewide, approximately 2,500 people are considered unsheltered, living on the streets. Most are single adults, and 79% of them are men.

The number of homeless people in families is on the rise throughout Arizona; many of them are victims of domestic violence. According to DES, 4,346 adults and 4,095 children received help from domestic violence service providers in 2014.

Isn't it time we stop for a moment to think about what we can possibly do to help reduce the Homeless population in our community. With very little time and effort, each and every one of us can make a significant impact in improving the lives of the Homeless. With a little extra effort, we can HELP reduce the number of Homeless in our community.

Sounds of Autism was started in 2011 to bring a voice to a silent epidemic called Autism.

Our son Landon was 9 at that time and by then I was super frustrated having to navigate the system and put all the necessary pieces together to raise our child who at that time had been given the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. It should not have been this difficult putting his life's journey together. It should have had a solid foundation for as large as the Autism community was.

I have always been one to seek solutions when I was faced with life's challenges. All we needed was a "one stop shop" offering simple solutions with results that would last a lifetime and within a safe and understanding community.

Our Sounds of Autism team got to work and today our program serves all communities that play a part in making the journey of living a life with Autism a much more successful and sustainable journey.

The Phoenix Rescue Mission had very humble beginnings.

In 1952, LeRoy Davidson, a 28-year-old Phoenix house painter, attended a service where he talked with Jimmy Carr from California about the need for a Christian mission in Phoenix.

Jimmy, LeRoy, and LeRoy's wife, Grace, felt that the Lord had laid it on their hearts to save the souls of the men struggling on the streets of Phoenix.

The first evening of operation, a simple meal was prepared to be served after the gospel was shared. The Davidsons' eight-year-old son, Stanley, helped his mother make plain sandwiches of bread and bologna to be served with Kool-Aid. About 15 migrant workers and vagrants attended, sitting on wooden planks supported by paint cans. Grace named their new venture the Phoenix Gospel Mission.

The Mission grew so quickly that it had to move twice within two years.

In 1954, six local businessmen incorporated the Phoenix Gospel Mission  at a location on South 3rd Street, on the current location of Chase Field.

The Phoenix Rescue Mission is a place of hope, healing, and new beginnings for men, women, and children in our community struggling with homelessness, addiction, and trauma.

A community mobilized to transform lives and end hunger and homelessness.

Angela Hughey and Sheri Owens co-founded ONE Community in the fall of 2008. The concept of an interactive web and events community came from over a year of research that they compiled on the LGBT community which included the diversity within the community, buying power and how to market to the community.

At ONE Community, we pride ourselves on being cutting edge social entrepreneurs. We are a small business with a big heart.

Mission statement: ONE Community's mission is to create a coalition of socially responsible businesses and individuals who support diversity, inclusion and equality.

Vision statement: ONE Community's vision is to create a coalition of socially responsible businesses and individuals by educating, empowering and connecting. Through our member based coalition, we promote businesses and organizations who support the LGBT community, diversity, inclusion and equality.

What is ONE Community?

ONE Community is an interactive web and events community for LGBT and allied individuals and businesses. Social membership is free, business memberships start at just $30 per month. We offer business to business solutions and business to consumer solutions. Our motto is You Vote with Your Wallet Every Day. We encourage business professionals and consumers to support businesses who support the LGBT community and diversity. Check out our business member directory.

For. By. Committed to the Community.
We are for our diverse community because we offer special member discounts and pricing, ONE Community nights, business forums and an extensive gay, lesbian and allied business directory.
We are by our diverse community, with up to the minute local Phoenix and national news, discussion groups and community blogs. What better way to bring our LGBT and Phoenix communities together than to talk about it, whatever it is!
We are committed to the Community. We support our non-profit community partners through events and engagement.

And we are dedicated to creating a stronger relationship with the allied community. It's a basic math equation, really. Whether we are 6-7% or 10% of the overall population, the one thing we aren't is 51%. It is important as a community that we come together to celebrate our uniqueness, diversity, friendships, and those that support us.
We are, after all ONE big community!

Treasure House is the vision of Kurt and Brenda Warner, who believe that all people, regardless of ability, have a purpose and call for their life, and are able to participate in meaningful and challenging activities, establish personal relationships, and contribute to society when provided with appropriate supports and opportunities.

The Warners have been inspired and amazed by all that their son Zachary has accomplished in his life, despite the diagnoses and labels given to him. It is their love for Zack that gives them the passion to create an environment that will not only support those with intellectual and developmental disabilities but also will allow them to thrive as they share their gifts with others.

Treasure House is a supportive living community for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), with the first location planned for the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan area. A strong emphasis on independence, respect, and community integration will provide an optimal environment for residents to live, work, and enjoy recreational activities while being part of a larger family.

Thanks to the efforts of Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary?s Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity.

The Knights was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

The history of the Order shows how the foresight of Father Michael J. McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican, brought about what has become the world's foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.

The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more than 14,000 councils and 1.8 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam, Saipan, Lithuania, Ukraine, and South Korea.

Family Promise rescues primarily first time homeless families from the streets and provides emergency shelter and basic needs in a sixty day program designed to assist their return to self-sufficiency. Our shelter includes a sanctuary for the family pet, the first such program in Arizona.

Our goal is to give the family a hands-up and assist them in their return to self sufficiency. Services include case management, counseling, enrichment programs, resources and referrals with the focus on securing employment and next step housing. Our program model is based on a national model that is highly successful, and over 70% of families accepted into the Family Promise program graduate into sustainable housing. Family Promise partners with over 30 interfaith congregations across the Valley to provide safe overnight shelter, food and compassion to families in crisis.

Our objective is to rescue families quickly before the devastating effects of homelessness create a downward spiral of poverty, reliance on shelters, accompanied by developmental, academic and health problems, and ultimately foster care for the children.

Mission Statement:
Passionate in assisting women begin to "THRIVE" by providing therapeutic self-care solutions to transform their lives.

Our Story:
The "Pink Bag" Initiative

Natalie was in a severely abusive marriage for nearly 4 1/2 years.

The insurmountable loss she endured almost became more than she could bare physically, emotionally & spiritually. The severity of the abuse nearly cost her, her life.

During her life-saving hospitalization, she relied on her deep faith and her deep love for her precious daughters to begin regaining her power back! She empowered herself so that she could instantly take her life back and not allow her 4 beautiful daughters to become motherless.

Through her very deep and unwavering faith in God, she was able to take a step large enough for healing to begin. In 3 short but also long months, she courageously & permanently ended her marriage and never looked back!

As the weeks became months, she relentlessly prayed asking God to reveal what his will for her life was. She felt as if she had no defined purpose for her life anymore, which left her wandering from day to day.

One afternoon, she received a phone call from her new business mentor. As she shared her story, her mentor encouraged, supported, was incredibly understanding, and offered her wisdom and guidance in regards to the vision she had in helping other women like myself.

Because of her mentor, she began to create the blueprints of

The Pink Bags.....

Natalie's goal was actually quite simple in a very complex circumstance.

When she remembered her inability to comfort herself in anyway or her lack of desire to perform necessary and therapeutic self-care, she decided that she was going to create something tangible that would assist other women similar to herself, the ability to begin performing therapeutic self-care.

The tangible item Natalie created are the Pink Bags...

The beautiful hot pink bags are filled with luxury bath & beauty products, as well as beautiful & feminine everyday items that makes each woman feel exceptionally pampered!

Natalie truly believes that each of the specially handpicked items, that fulfill a very specific need, will assist each woman the ability to begin to "THRIVE" which will help transform their lives.

The Pink Bags are a loving reminder to every woman, that there is a new community which truly, genuinely & deeply care for them and their success in reclaiming their lives, while also beginning to create the beautiful new life they not only want but also very much deserve.

A New Day believes there is strength in unity. Through unification as a community we strive to supplement gaps not provided by existing resources to individuals with special needs. We offer services and supports that are flexible and responsive to the problem at hand. We are tasked to resolve needs without the long wait lists from bigger organizations and/or going through red tape to get the need met. We give back to the community in the same ways the community supports us. We know how important it is to contribute meaningful actions that make a difference to others. We believe that as we help our community, our friends, neighbors and business partners in turn help tell our story.

The ISEE (Institute for the Support of Educational Excellence) Foundation was first formed in 1983. The foundation's purpose at the time was to promote state education reform and initiatives to affect meaningful change to Arizona K-12 education. In 1997, Glendale Union High School District took over the ISEE foundation and changed its direction from one of Arizona state interests to focus exclusively on GUHSD and its community needs. Recently, the name was updated to the Glendale Union High School District Education Foundation. Glendale Union High School District Education Foundation's mission is to support public education in the Glendale Union High School District by rallying the community to provide additional resources for schools and students and build strong school-community partnerships.

The Glendale Union High School District Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to funding projects that boost student achievement and to provide student scholarships and teacher grants to support the district?s mission.

The White Dove Thrift Shoppes -named after Hospice of the Valley's dove logo - opened its first store in Phoenix in 2004. A location in Scottsdale followed in 2008, and the Mesa store opened in 2013. We have been recognized by Phoenix New Times as the best place to shop thrift!

Many items sold at The White Dove are donated by family members of patients we have served. The stores offer unique finds for the avid thrifter and treasure hunter. Items also go to patients in need. Anything that cannot be used or sold is donated to other charities.

Angela Hughey and Sheri Owens co-founded ONE Community in the fall of 2008. At ONE Community, we pride ourselves on being cutting edge social entrepreneurs. We are a small business with a big heart.
