About We Care Thrift Stores
WE CARE PROGRAM is a non-profit interdenominational Christian ministry focused on sharing the transforming message of Jesus Christ to men and women in prison. Our purpose is to proclaim Christ and disciple inmates. We seek to lead offenders to an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ that involves practical change in their minds as well as their hearts.
Our Monroeville location is the second location established by We Care Program. The doors were first opened in June, 2002. Monroeville is a community of 6,500 and is known for being the Literary capital of Alabama. You can easily find us in the historic district, directly across the street from the Monroe County Courthouse. A variety of clothing, furniture, household items, books, and many other items are regularly updated. Theres no better place to find a bargain in this historic community.
When donating gently used items, you will find our donation bins located directly behind the building. Please knock on the back door to receive friendly assistance and we will be glad to help unload your clothing, shoes, furniture, and any other miscellaneous items. We will gladly supply you with a donation receipt upon request.
