Dan Vincent, owner/founder
Kaleo Coaching

I grew up in St. Charles County, graduating from Francis Howell in 2001. I completed college in Louisville, KY receiving a Bachelors in Leadership and Ministry. After graduating college, my wife and I began many years of travel and ministry. I spent 2 ½ years in Nashville, TN, a year serving as a missionary in Southern Brazil, then 3 years in Buffalo, NY before coming home in 2012. Along the way my vocation had transitioned to the corporate world, which is when I truly began to see a gap between how people are prepared for work and the work they find themselves in. My experience in nonprofit, ministry, and corporate work settings challenged what I thought I knew about work, life’s calling, and how to make sense of it all.

I first took the Clifton Strengths assessment in 2012, and received coaching on how to find “my seat on the bus”, so to speak. After almost 8 years climbing a corporate ladder I left for a new ministry opportunity, and took this time of transition to become a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. I have also accumulated more than 100 hours of International Coaching Federation approved training hours in professional coaching. In January 2017 I officially created Kaleo Coaching because I am passionate about building others up to the GOOD work they are called to. The creator of Clifton Strengths once said, “When you discover your talents, you begin to discover your calling. When you develop those talents into strengths, and apply those strengths, you fulfill your calling.” I have grown to realize your calling has more to do with who you are, and less to do with a particular job.

When working with individuals, my coaching program begins with taking the Clifton Strengths assessment to set the focus on what is right about you: your natural talents! Scheduled coaching conversations give you the opportunity to learn about, develop, and intentionally aim those talents in your life. This impacts everything from relationships to areas of study, and certainly your work life. Gallup’s research shows that when individuals focus on using their natural talents they are 6 times as likely to be engaged in their work, and 3 times as likely to report having an excellent quality of life.

When working with teams, each team member (including the manager!) takes the Clifton Strengths assessment to understand the talent makeup. Starting with the manager’s awareness of their own talents, team workshops are designed with highly interactive methods to unleash a powerful team dynamic by becoming strengths-based. Gallup’s research shows that teams focusing on strengths are 12.5% more productive, and experience 7.9% greater profitability! Even more, when the manager focuses on the strengths of their team employee disengagement falls to an astoundingly low 1%!

Gallup’s research consistently shows that the key to engagement, life satisfaction, and a productive and profitable work experience has everything to do with being able to do what you do best. I believe there is a larger narrative in our world, and knowing how we are best equipped to participate is the beginning of discovering our call.

My desire as your coach is to build you up in your strengths so you can provide the GOOD work you are called to!

My dream in the next 5 years is for Kaleo Coaching to be a catalyst for strengths in St. Charles County. I invite others to dream with me by asking the following questions: What would it look like for a community where people are able to do what they do best every day? While national employee engagement hovers at 33%, what could a community look like if that engagement level were doubled? How could this change the way people view the good work they have to offer? I look forward to growing this strengths-based movement by coaching others to clarify their call, and equip them to provide a GOOD work throughout our community. You could be in an ideal position to be a part of this movement if you want to:

  • Discover and develop your natural talents
  • Clarify the type of work you are called to
  • Increase your engagement in life and work
  • Become a better manager/leader through learning your team’s strengths

The O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce is an incredible community of support. In similar fashion, the O’Fallon Chamber supports businesses by considering ways they can succeed, and putting out all the stops to see that happen!
