Cultivate Your Workplace Culture



When is the last time you assessed the culture in your workplace? The culture created by leadership and employees can have significant impact on the morale and overall job satisfaction. Negative workplace practices can create a toxic environment and become detrimental to a company, making it difficult to hire and retain employees. Try a few of these ideas to ensure a thriving workplace!
1. Establish core values: Define your core values which will lay the foundation for your culture and long-term goals
2. Encourage open communication: Make sure employees know their opinions matter and they are being heard with their ideas.

7. Be Flexible: Earn the respect of your employees by offering a flexible schedule so they can attend to their personal lives as well.
8. Plan Social Outings: Create opportunities for employees to socialize and form meaningful connections. This can help them enjoy their job even more.
9. Office Retreats: Plan off-site retreats for team bonding and connecting.
10. Theme Days: Organize fun themed days at the office to encourage creativity.
11. Inspirational Speakers: Invite local speakers to come to the office and give motivational talks to inspire your employees.
12. Encourage Personal Development: Budget for conferences, courses and workshops to help employees advance their careers and feel valued.
13. Encourage Work-Life Balance: Employees will be apt to stay at a workplace if they feel their work and personal lives are balanced and taken into consideration.
14. Appoint Ambassadors: Designate a few employees who champion and promote culture and serve as a liaison between staff and leadership.
15. Wellness Stations: Set up periodic pop-up stations for activities like yoga, meditation, or even health checkups to promote physical and mental well-being!
