The Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) of Greater St. Louis is a leading trade association dedicated to advancing the electrical industry through education and training. The IEC offers SO many amazing programs and benefits:
  • Comprehensive Apprenticeship Programs: Offers a four-year Electrical Apprenticeship Program and a three-year Limited Energy Technician Program, both combining classroom instruction with hands-on training.

  • Earn While You Learn: Apprentices work full-time with IEC contractors during the day and attend evening classes, allowing them to earn a wage while gaining valuable skills.

  • College Credit Opportunities: Graduates of the apprenticeship programs can earn up to 42 college credit hours.

  • National Recognition: IEC's apprenticeship programs are registered with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship, ensuring nationwide credentials.

  • Extensive Contractor Network: Members have access to over 75 qualified, licensed electrical contractors in the region, all required to be licensed and bonded in each jurisdiction.

  • Community Engagement: Hosts events like the Annual Clay Shoot to raise funds for apprenticeship training and to foster community among members.
