From Boring to Brilliant: Upgrade Your Job Postings

In today’s competitive hiring market, a well-written job posting can make all the difference. It’s often the first impression a candidate has of your organization—and a key factor in whether they choose to apply. Here ares some simple ways you can upgrade your job descriptions to better reflect your workplace and stand out to top talent!

Use Clear, Inclusive Language

  • Avoid buzzwords like "rockstar" and cliches like "fast-paced environment"
  • Avoid industry acronyms and spell out abbreviations for things like certifications

Start With a Strong Introduction

  • Instead of a company mission statement, open with something like "In this role, you'll..."
  • Focus on the candidate's experience (what they'll learn or impact)
Highlight Culture, Flexibility & Benefits
  • List benefits clearly- don't bury them at the end of the job listing!
  • Highlight flexible work schedules, remote work and team culture where applicable.

  • Keep everything as short and concise as possible.
