February 2016

President's Corner

Hi Everyone!

WHEW!!  The 2016 Dinner on the Diamond event was last Thursday night and was a fantastic success…but boy are we happy it’s over.  The Chamber Staff and Event Committee have put in an incredible number of hours to make it the fun evening it was.  There will be an email going out next week with lots of pictures so you can see how much fun you had or wat a great time you missed.

I personally want to thank the people who made it all possible: Ashley Scott, Kara Minton and Ruby Rojas from the Chamber Staff, Erin Shreenan from the Peoria Diamond Club, Elliot Sweitzer from the Peoria Sports Complex and the Committee: Dave Evans, Pat McDermott, Charlene Bisson, Samantha Fritz, Chuck Strange, Holly Pierce, Dawn Prince, Nikkie Byers, Kyle Kraus and Marge Martin.  These are the people who made it all happen – my sincerest thanks and appreciation.

I attended the “Old Town Peoria” revitalization committee last week headed by Councilwoman Vicki Hunt.  Never have I attended a meeting with so many people sharing their vision of what Old Town could be with such enthusiasm and commitment.  I truly believe this group of merchants will succeed at whatever they put their minds to.  I am excited at the prospects and look forward to having our Chamber be a part of it any way we can.

Don’t miss tomorrow’s Hot Topics and Lunch – “What is the Cloud and what can it do for my business” Bruce LeGendre of Computer Troubleshooters is the presenter and he’ll help you make sense of this “cloud” thing everyone’s talking about.

Join the Chamber on Wednesday March 2nd for this year’s Peoria Diamond Club’s Charity Game. We have the entire Pavillion Area with food supplied so far by the Haymaker and Arizona Broadway Theatre.  Tickets courtesy of the Peoria Diamond Club are only $10 each and it’s open to everyone!  Members, Non-Members, employees, friends, relatives and children, call everyone you know we want to fill the area and help the support the Chamber.  We have 400 tickets available so sneak out and enjoy a Spring Training Game.

Until next week….
