June 2016

President's Corner

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed a terrific Memorial Day weekend with your family and friends and had a chance to relax from your hectic schedules.

Last week’s Ribbon Cutting/Mixer at the Lucidi Distillery in Old Town Peoria was a fantastic success!  Over 100 people were in attendance, including Mayor Cathy Carlat, members of the City of Peoria City Council and City Manager Carl Swenson.  Mayor Carlat and Councilwoman Vicki Hunt (Acacia District) both shared the City’s excitement and enthusiasm for this bright new star in Old Town Peoria and the big revitalization plans for Old Town in the future. If you like to see and hear their remarks go to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dhh9YqXbeE&feature=youtu.be

Following that event on Thursday night, we had a combined mixer with the Surprise Chamber at Windmill Suites.  Attendance was strong from both chambers and I saw many of the people exchanging business cards and contact information.  I’m guessing some great relationships were formed that will turn into more business referrals for everyone.  I would like to personally thank the following businesses for their generous donations for raffle prizes:

Credit Union West- Gift Basket
Spa 810- Massage/Facial Gift Certificate
Wines for Humanity- Bottle of Wine
Arizona United SC- Soccer Game tickets
Chuck and Rosie Strange- Gift Basket
Eagle Laser Engraving Services- Engraved Beer Mugs
Windmill Suites- (2) Free One-Night Stays at Windmill Suites
Birt’s Bistro supplied all the food
The Nest provided all Beer and Wine beverages

spa810 LLC, is one of the fastest growing franchise boutique med spas in the U.S. today. With over 32 locations being opened in the U.S. and Canada in the next 6 months, spa810 is on a remarkable growth plan.  Their next spa to open is in the Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale, Arizona. The new beautiful spa810 Arrowhead is more than 2,000 square feet with 8 spa rooms for their ultimate top-of-the-line pain-free Alma laser, facial and massage services.

spa810 is different than other spa franchises. It is the only franchise that offers Laser Hair Removal, Facials and Massages, all under one roof.  The Arrowhead spa810 location will offer massage, facials, Eclipse Micropen micro-needling, VI Chemical Peels, lash and brow tinting, Revitalash, Eminence Organics Skincare, iS Clinical Skincare and the new cutting edge HydraFacial Machine.

The Arrowhead spa810 will be using the Alma Soprano ICE, which is the safest and most advanced laser in the market today. The Soprano ICE is the GOLD STANDARD for laser hair removal. In recent years, the diode laser has become the superstar of laser hair removal. It is the best overall machine for treating all six-skin types based on safety and long-term use especially satisfactory to skin types I-IV.  The Alma Diode has a longer wavelength than other lasers. This longer wavelength enables the light to penetrate deeper and is theoretically safer than shorter wavelength lasers because it can better avoid the melanin pigment in the skin's epidermis.

The Arrowhead spa810 will be open Monday-Friday 9:00am-7:00pm, Saturday’s 9:00am-6:00pm and Sunday’s 10:00am-3:00pm.
It is located at 7451 W. Bell Road, Suite 2, Peoria, AZ 85382.

A Message from the Mayor

Peoria Residents Dedicate Sunrise Mountain

Peoria residents gathered a little after sunrise Saturday morning on May 21st to dedicate the new Sunrise Mountain Preserve for the use of all future Peoria generations.

The crowd that included hikers, bikers, and equestrian and nature enthusiasts rallied to mark the historic occasion of ownership transferring to the citizens. Last month, Peoria City Council approved the purchase of the western 85 acres of Sunrise Mountain, located at 91st Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

The area was zoned for residential properties and the land developer planned for 130 units until Mayor Carlat initiated conversations with the developer immediately upon taking office. Now the preserve will be open for citizen use and connected with Peoria’s trail system.
