I'M BAACCCKKK….
Did you miss me? I’m guessing probably not, but I do have lots to update you on!
As I’m sure everybody is aware of, we are now in our
new offices adjacent to Huntington University. Our office is the farthest suite to the east. There are signs on 83
rd Avenue and on Mariners Way to direct you. The new address is 8385 W. Mariners Way, Peoria AZ 85382.
Now let’s talk about Chamber Staff –
Ashley Scott is back but is opting to work part time for us while being a Mom for their two little boys. She will be in the office only on Monday’s. The remainder of time she will be working from home.
Curtis Davis our Marketing and Social Media person has joined our team full time. You will now see him at all our events doing his social media thing and keeping everyone up to date on our events.
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT (drum roll please) I am personally thrilled to announce that Donna Collamer has joined our team as Membership Director. Many of you already know Donna as she has been active in our Chamber for many years. Donna’s business is the KioKom kiosk that you see all over the state directing visitors to a wide variety of businesses in the area. I have tried to get Donna to join my team literally since day one of my coming to work at the Chamber. I am very excited to have her working with us.
Last week the
Chamber was honored to host Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat’s 2017 State of the City Address at Arizona Broadway
Theatre. Mayor Carlat shared with the
370 people in attendance all the amazing accomplishments Peoria has enjoyed in the last year and listened as she outlined her agenda for the coming year as the Mayor and City Council continue to strive to make our City the best in the West Valley to live, work and play.
How about winning $1,000,000? It’s time for the
Peoria Chamber Asset Preservation $10 Million Shootout Golf Classic! We have moved our tournament to
Friday May 12th to avoid so many other tournaments going on the end of September. We are again at
Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia, with a Shot-Gun start set for 12:30,
and a buffet dinner and awards presentation immediately following the Shoot-Out. In addition to all the fun on course games, we’ve added a
three-putt putting contest where someone can win $30,000 cash.
Our next Golf Committee Meeting is this Friday April 7th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Chamber office. We could really use more help so if you can make it please come join us!
