Renovations At Peoria Main Library
Will Close September 4th - Reopen to the Public September 9
Peoria Main Library is undergoing interior renovations and will briefly close to the public September 4
th. The library will re-open Saturday, September 9th.
Although the library building at Peoria Main will be closed, the book drop will be open and available. Patrons will still be able to receive library services from Sunrise Mountain Library and from the Peoria Public Library website.
During the closure, the library will be undergoing routine enhancements including new furniture, carpet cleaning and the reconfiguration of several key areas of the library.
"We haven't updated the Peoria Main Library for a number of years, and it is one of the busiest libraries in the community," said Nathaniel Washburn, Peoria Library & Cultural Services Manager. "This renovation project allows us to make improvements to the library to enhance the experience for our patrons. We can't wait to share the new and improved library with the public."

Catch Los Lobos and Lonely Boys at Somos Peoria
Peoria's newest festival, ¡Somos Peoria!, will feature the award-winning bands, Los Lobos and Los Lonely Boys, along with activities for the entire family on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 2 to 10:30 p.m. in Old Town Peoria at Peoria and Grand Avenues. The two bands will be headlining a festival full of crafts, food, drinks, games and more. Event admission is $5 before 5 p.m. and $10 after 5 p.m. Children ages 12 and under are free. Save the Date for Oktoberfest
The Arizona Center for Germanic Cultures and City of Peoria will host a traditional, old-world, fun-filled Old World Oktoberfest on Sept. 22 and 23. Put on your lederhos'n or dirndl and come to the Old World Oktoberfest in Peoria for an authentic taste of German cuisine. Get a giant beer mug, taste some delicious German food, enjoy live music from a German band, participate in fun-filled competitions, and shop for souvenirs.
