Coffee is for Closers - Peoria Chamber Exclusive Providing RESULTS For Members!

RESULTS!
Last meeting we heard from a couple of members who implemented the strategies provided by President & CEO, Scot Andrews and realized positive results!

Join us on Thursday 11.21.19 and let's talk sales strategies and tools you can implement!

Biz Bites - We Heard You and We're Ready To Deliver!

Thank you!

Our first Biz Bites meeting reinforced the need for delivering more hands on tools and strategies to help tackle the challenges some of our service based business owners are facing.

We collected a list of topics that are keeping you up at night and determined that we will start with Identifying Your Target Customer and Creating Messaging To Attract Them. Our next meeting will be 12/11/19, from 11:30 - 1:00 at Giordano's. We will have 2-3 professional resources with proven techniques to help you gain clarity on this foundational aspect for your business.

Stay tuned for the event registration or if you weren't able to attend the Biz Bites, join us for our initial Biz Sips after hours meeting (information below).

Biz Sips - Let's Get Down To Business...After Hours at Revolu 12/4/19!

The purpose of this new after hours event is to gather at member's business/restaurant and work through some of the top challenges our business owners are facing.

Based on the 30 people who showed up to the afternoon version, Biz Bites, we recognize there is a definite need to provide hands tools and strategies.

Just as we did for Biz Bites, we will discuss a list of topics that are keeping you up at night and will invite resources by topic for
future meetings that can provide tips and tools.

FREE for Peoria Chamber members and $15.00 for Guests.

Meet Your Members - Whispering Dragons, Jacob Lanthier

Founder, Jacob Lanthier brings the vision of creating a company that is home to different people from around the world. Jacob is currently developing the Information Technology Services aspect of the company to provide trustworthy IT solutions to the local business of Phoenix, Arizona. Having 10 years of experience in the industry, Jacob also specializes in Hardware Repair as one of the main services that the company offers.

With his commitment to reaching greater heights, Jacob took an MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology, focusing on project management, to understand the ins and outs of a project-based business. He is planning to expand Whispering Dragons in the Entertainment Sector and other
aspects of technology fields over the next five years.

Apart from being a dedicated IT person, he loves to go out and explore the vast hiking locations within Arizona with his beloved Great Dane. Despite being a man of technology, he is still fond of sports and kayaking, even hopes to get back into rock-climbing. As expected, he is an avid video gamer, where he enjoys being part of the ever-growing video game community.

Daniel Oquendo, Chief Technology Officer, has always had a passion for computers and wants to push them further to their limits. While growing up in Florida, he would be usually ahead of others when it came down to how to use the computer and proper use. Since then, Daniel has expanded his knowledge by coming out to Arizona for college where he learned of like-
minded individuals with a passion for technology and gaming.

Since college, Daniel has worked with Jacob for a while to build a company to be that “something” out there, the need, the go-to for people while maintaining the care and passion that the core of the business represents.
He has worked on various bits of sound engineer, podcasting, online broadcasting, and continues to learn the business sense.

News You Can Use from HR Pro Rosemary Rulka

Did you know that effective January 1, 2020, the federal government is raising the minimum salary requirement for exempt positions from $455 to $684 per week?  That translates to thousands of extra payroll dollars ($11,908 annually for a 40 hour workweek) for companies like retail, dry cleaners, restaurants, printers, cleaning companies and lots of other businesses with traditionally lower wages.

This change does not mean that anyone making $684 per week will be exempt from overtime. Salary is only one part of the requirements for exempt status. The duties tests remain intact.

There are options for reducing the impact of the new overtime rule. For more information, Click
