Hospice of the Valley
has a 43-year history of caring and is humbled to serve the more than 19,000 patients who entrust us with their care each year. Our Mission, bringing comfort, dignity and compassionate care to our community, hasn’t wavered in all those years.
At Hospice of the Valley, we continue to expand to meet the needs of our community. Our full-spectrum care goes far beyond helping those at end of life. We offer home-based primary care to manage acute and chronic illness and improve quality of life. We also have Palliative Home Care and Palliative Care for Dementia. The Campus for Dementia Care and Education is set to open in 2021. This unique community resource will focus on meeting the needs of people living with dementia and their families. Medically fragile children with life-limiting illnesses are cared for at home and in partnership with Ryan House. Nine inpatient care homes are available Valleywide for patients who need round-the-clock, short-term inpatient care.
As a nonprofit, Hospice of the Valley’s safety net of care extends to those without insurance or the means to pay. In 2019, more than $10 million in services were provided to our community.
We are honored to have 2,000 volunteers supporting our patients. They provide pet and music therapy. Our Shabbat Blessings program brings Sabbath prayers to the bedsides of our patients in our inpatient homes and care facilities. Our tender 11th Hour Companion program provides a specially trained volunteer to vigil with patients and provide peace of mind to family members. Volunteers with Saluting Our Veterans pay tribute visits to veteran patients at end of life. Our Senior Placement Service helps locate living arrangements for those who can no longer manage on their own and assist with Healthcare Decision Planning.

Phased Reopening Plan for Paused Industries
Arizona Department Of Health Services Phased Reopening Plan For Paused Industries
(Information taken from Newsroom of Governer Ducey - Press Release)
The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) announced public health recommendations for the eventual safe reopening of paused businesses in the state of Arizona.
If you are, or if you represent, a business closed by EO 2020-43, please refer to this linked press release.
According to the most recent two-week review, ADHS advised keeping restrictions in place for the time being, but has provided the following benchmarks for industry leaders and businesses to understand when a general reopening may be considered. Businesses have the opportunity through the attestation process for review of individual circumstances in the event that they are denied the ability to reopen for public health reasons.
Benchmarks and Phased Reopenings
(Select images to enlarge)
Upon reopening, all industries must submit an attestation form stating they are in compliance. The attestation form shall be posted in a visible location at the facility. Additional details can be found in the ADHS COVID-19 Guidance for Businesses.
Please refer to this linked press release for more information.

The Arizona Secretary of State's office is charged with a number of important state functions, including serving as acting governor when the governor is absent from the state. The Secretary of State also works hand-in-hand with the business community. Their office is tasked with recording the partnerships of those who do business in Arizona and register trade names, trademarks and issue certificates of registration. Another important duty of the office is trustworthy, secure elections. One of the goals of their office is to register more voters and encourage them to become engaged in their elections. But even with this wide array of duties, their commitment to the public remains the same: to provide us all with efficient, friendly customer service.
Participants will learn:
- What a day in the life of a Secretary of State looks like
- Overview of the general election ballot initiatives
