2020 Events Update

2020 EVENTS UPDATE

This year Covid has allowed us to explore the digital opportunities that Zoom has to offer as we have transitioned several of our event series to virtual. We will continue to use Zoom as we finish out 2020 for our weekly events: Coffee for Closers, Marketing Monday, Women 4 Women, and Percolate Peoria.

We have decided to take a pause in our monthly Networking Breakfast for the month of November.

We plan to re-engage our Networking Breakfast event as we move into 2021. We want to bring you prominent community leaders and create a space where you can network with one another as business leaders and mingle over breakfast. Until we know what 2021 will bring, we hope that you will continue to join us on Zoom weekly and take part in learning ways to increase sales, market your business, and interact with other Chamber Members.

Calling All Nonprofits!

This is a 24-hour creative marathon where volunteers come together to provide design, marketing, and strategic services for nonprofits.

This event is part of AIGA Design for Good. Due to COVID, this year’s event will be held virtually. Although we won’t be in the same space this year, we will try and make the best out of it by collaborating over zoom and playing games to keep us energized and focused throughout the night!

Together we can ignite, accelerate, and amplify design-driven social change.

Can you help out Gompers?

Prior to COVID-19, Gompers served 500 students and adults with disabilities with a Private Day School, Adult Day Program (DTA) and Employment Services (ES) at locations in Peoria, Glendale and Phoenix. As we approach our 75th anniversary, our mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit continues to transform local lives for the better with unique programming and experiences.

On September 14, 2020, Gompers welcomed back 60+ adult members and 50 drivers and staff to Adult Day Program (DTA) at our Phoenix and Peoria locations after 5 months of virtual services. Employment Services offers group supported employment in partnership with 15 local businesses across the valley, from Peoria to Mesa. Our ability to re-open and stay open is largely due to our work with HealthyVerify. In collaboration, we developed a re-opening plan, staff training and health and safety protocols that are certified in accordance with all Federal, State and Local guidelines. These safety measures require us to operate program rooms at a reduced capacity of 45%.

In order to continue services for all the individuals we supported before building closure, Gompers needs additional space and is looking for opportunities to partner with local business that have unused space. Please contact mbotterbusch@gompers.org if you can help!

Axiom Valuation

Valuation issues are becoming increasingly complex and central to financial reporting for many organizations. Mastering these valuation challenges requires multi-disciplined expertise in finance, accounting, and economics; an in-depth understanding of the evolving financial markets; and skill in using and managing complicated valuation metrics. Our staff, at Axiom Valuation Solutions, meet those requirements. Not only have we have undertaken extensive research in finance and have published recurrently in peer-reviewed journals, but, the work of Axiom Valuation is grounded in real-world valuation experience. Collectively, the staff at Axiom Valuation has accumulated many years of effective interaction with auditors of the Big 4, and with valuation specialists of other firms. This combination enables Axiom Valuation to deliver an unparalleled level of service to clients.

BBSI

Sure, we provide payroll administration, a great workers’ comp program, staffing and recruiting, and a variety of HR and business consulting services, but who we are is so much more than that. We are an inquisitive group who want to understand who you are. We want to uncover what reality is like for you today and what challenges you’re facing, but that’s just the beginning. What we really want to understand is why you started your business. What you hope to achieve. What makes you proud, and what keeps you up at night. Only then can we work together to create a blueprint for your success.

We’ve also seen firsthand how important community is. It’s easy to feel alone when you’ve got it all on the line, and you may not be comfortable sharing your business concerns with your employees. We regularly bring independent business owners together to create a community free from the pressures and distractions of the everyday grind—to connect and talk about their experiences and challenges. Then we help you take the knowledge and inspiration you gain from these sessions and apply it to your business.

The Mission at Agua Fria Senior Living is More than Just Senior Apartments

Locally owned and managed, The Mission at Agua Fria’s senior living community provides a full range of supportive senior care options for those who live there.

The Mission at Agua Fria senior living community opened in Peoria in 2018 and is currently managed by the Solterra Management Group. The newly built space offers beautiful studios and apartments, state-of-the-art assisted living and memory care, and a loving home for all who live there. It’s more than just senior apartments: it’s a community where genuine care, experience, and expertise are key ingredients to excellent senior living.

Over 30 memory care studios and 59 studio and one-bedroom assisted living apartments are available for senior residents. All studios and apartments are spacious, ADA accessible, and safe. But that’s just the beginning of what residents find when they live at the Mission of Agua Fria. A wide variety of amenities and programming are also offered to encourage residents’ happiness and health.

For starters, chef-prepared meals are served three times a day in the community dining room. Apartment maintenance, housekeeping, transportation, and laundry and linen services are all handled by staff. A lounge, outdoor courtyards, and activities rooms are open to residents and perfect for group activities or just passing the time. Residents don’t have to worry about keeping busy, either. Recreational programs, cultural activities, social events, and excursions fill residents’ days. Music, art, and exercise are organized to enrich seniors’ lives, and health and cognitive benefits for those experiencing memory loss.

The Mission’s care staff is on-site 24/7, ensuring the safety and excellent care for all residents. Licensed caregivers lovingly assist residents with activities of daily living, medication management, and health care, but where the team really shines is in the individualized care they provide. Staff members get to know each and every resident on a personal level: their needs, interests, and medical and personal histories.

Assisted living residents are provided for while maintaining the amount of independence they desire, and residents living in the memory care neighborhood experience hands-on care by specially trained staff.

The Mission at Agua Fria treats all residents with love and dignity, providing everyone with the opportunity to live well. To learn more, visit the Mission website https://missionaguafria.com/ or contact them today (602) 832-4521.
