Community Finance Organizations: Your Accessible Funding Sources and Local Advisors
04/07/2021
05:30 PM - 07:00 PM MST
Zoom (Link provided upon registration)
Peoria, AZ 85382

Funding for a venture is notoriously difficult to obtain--especially when it comes to big banks. However, most people don't realize that their own community is rich with funding sources that are designed to work with startups and small businesses! These community finance organizations provide micro and small-business loans as well as expert advice from years of working with local entrepreneurs. Attendees will be introduced to a group community finance organization and have the opportunity to participate in an interactive discussion. The event will consist of individual interviews with each organization as well as a panel discussion addressing common questions and hurdles as well as their outlook on local entrepreneurship.

Participating community finance organizations include:

  • DreamSpring: Gerardo Novoa, Community Lending Officer
  • International Rescue Committee: Danielle Luna, Program Supervisor
  • Phoenix Kiva Hub: Jose Anca, Capital Access Manager

Who: This event is perfect for entrepreneurs at any stage--whether you are just forming an idea or you have a venture that is up-and-running and looking for additional funding.

Where: Virtual attendance is available via Zoom (link provided upon registration).

When: Wednesday, April 7th 5:30-7:00pm (Arizona Time)

Learning outcomes: By the end of this workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify local community finance organizations, their offerings and how to set up a meeting
  • Articulate the differences between different types of local community finance organizations
  • Identify your current funding needs and your next steps
