In downtown Prescott most activities center around our local Courthouse. The Courthouse Square is bordered by the legendary Whiskey Row – watering place of the likes of Doc Holliday and the Earp Brothers a century ago. Now it”s home to attractive shops, galleries, and eateries.
Prescott hosts the World”s Oldest Rodeo every Fourth of July, inspiring a week of festivities that include a community parade around the Courthouse Square.
Prescott is also known as Arizona”s Christmas City. Visitors come from statewide and beyond to see and participate in the Lighting of the Courthouse Square, the 2 parades (one during the day and the other “electric” night parade, and to do their Christmas shopping!
And if you love history you”ll want to check out some of our Museums around here. The Sharlot Hall Museum shows the early life here in Prescott. The Phippen Museum specializing in cowboy and other Southwestern art. And the Smoki Museum which specializes in Native American Indian life.
