DeLand Naval Air Station Museum to Host 30th Anniversary Big Band Celebration Dance

A Night of Swing Music, Dancing, and History in Support of Local Education and Military Recognition

Deltona, FL – The DeLand Naval Air Station Museum (DNASM) is proud to announce its 30th Anniversary Big Band
Celebration Dance, taking place on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The event will be held at The Center of Deltona, located at 1640 Dr. M.L.K. Blvd, Deltona, FL, and will feature a night of
live swing music, dancing, and festivities to celebrate three decades of preserving local history and honoring military
service.

The dance will showcase the beloved L.C. Swing Band, bringing the sounds of a bygone era back to life, along with a
variety of special activities, including:

Live performances and dance numbers by the L.C. Swing Band
Raffle prizes and door prizes
Cash bar and hors d'oeuvres
Decades dress attire encouraged, inviting guests to dress in vintage style for the occasion
Proceeds from the event will benefit DNASM's Adult and Youth Educational Programs, which promote the understanding
of local military history, and support vintage restoration projects that preserve historical aircraft and artifacts for future
generations.

"After having to cancel our annual dance in 2020 due to the pandemic, we are beyond excited to bring this event back to
the community," said Barbara Storz, President of the DeLand Naval Air Station Museum. "This year's dance is not only a
celebration of our 30th anniversary but also a tribute to the resilience of our organization, our supporters, and the
military service members who inspire us."

The DeLand Naval Air Station Museum, founded in 1994, has dedicated the last 30 years to preserving and sharing the
history of the DeLand Naval Air Station, which played a pivotal role in training naval aviators during World War II. The
museum's programs and exhibits provide valuable historical insight and foster a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices of
veterans and their families.
