South Fairfax Chamber of Commerce Announces Scholarships for Local Students

Lorton, VA – The South Fairfax Chamber of Commerce is proud to support the educational aspirations of local students by offering scholarships to both rising college and trade school applicants. We are seeking deserving high school seniors who
The SFCC scholarships – two Trade School and two University/College - will be presented at the Chamber's Annual Achievement Honors Gala on May 8, 2025 at Gunston Hall.
Eligibility Criteria
• Eligible applicants must reside in one of the following school districts: South County, Hayfield, West Springfield,
Lake Braddock, WT Woodson, Edison or Robinson.
• Students must submit a completed online application, including an essay of up to 700 words.
• A minimum GPA of 2.8 is required, and applicants must submit a transcript.
• Applications must be received by April 15, 2025.
Supporting Trade School Education
The SFCC Trade School Scholarships are proudly sponsored by Trademasters Home Services, a trusted provider of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services in the community for over three decades and American Legion Post 162, a U.S. veterans' organization, committed to mentoring youth, promoting patriotism, and advocating for national security.

American Legion Post 162 has been serving the Lorton veteran community and their families for more than 80 years. Post 162 is more than just a gathering place. Through advocacy, community programs, and a shared commitment to honoring those who served, they stand as a beacon of support and inclusivity.
The SFCC College/University Scholarships are proudly sponsored by American Legion Post 162 and Casey Whitmarsh. Casey is a dedicated State Farm® Insurance Agent with over two decades of experience helping individuals, families, and businesses protect what matters most. A proud Fairfax County resident since 2003, Casey is deeply involved in the community, serving as the Chair of the South Fairfax Chamber of Commerce.
