Mobile FEMA Intake Centers Today Through Saturday

The MRICs will be staffed by FEMA personnel who can assist Fire survivors with registration and answer questions about disaster assistance programs.
Fire Survivors should have the following information ready when you register for Disaster Assistance:

  • Social Security Number
  • Information about insurance coverage
  • Address of primary damaged residence
  • Current contact number and mailing address

  • Bank account and routing numbers to allow direct deposits.Important Note: The deadline to apply for FEMA disaster assistance is October 25, 2021.

It's a Great Week to Buy Gifts

Quincy Pharmacy

This week (September 13-17th) we will be donating 100% of our gift sales to Sandy Hampton at Hampton Repurposed Wood. She lost everything in the #dixiefire.

Sandy was our very first vendor at Quincy Pharmacy. I approached her about selling her signs in the pharmacy months before we even opened. I knew her style was perfect for the business I hoped to create. We have absolutely loved working with her for the past four years and literally do a little happy dance every time she brings in a restock! Which was often because her signs FLEW off the shelves every time we restocked them!

Her signs were a huge cornerstone of our Pharmhouse Gift Shop and it truly won’t be the same without them. She helped us get on our feet and get started —and now we want to turn around and get her back on hers.

SO if you are looking for a good excuse to do some shopping this week —it is a win win week! You get that fun gift item you’ve been eyeing and 100% of your purchase goes to help Sandy start over.

Had Enough Already?

Plumas Rural Services

The Plumas Rural Services (PRS) Mindful Living program is now offering stress reduction and emotional management support in the privacy of your own home.

Private one-on-one video sessions introduce a variety of resources, techniques, and practical tips for anyone seeking to reduce the affects of stress in their lives and the skills and strategies to support emotional well-being.

MBSR works by helping to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which acts as the brakes on the body’s nervous system, relaxing and slowing down the body’s response to stress.

For more information about Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and other Mindful Living services, including Mindful Movement, Mindful Nurturing Parenting, Mindful Co-Parenting and more, visit www.PlumasRuralServices.org/MindfulLiving or contact the Program Coordinator, Leslie Wall at 530-283-3611.

Huge Shout Out

Mountain Mattress

HUGE SHOUT OUT to Malouf Home!! We are SO grateful for their generous donation last month. When we got the devastating news of the fire sweeping through Greenville, we immediately reached out to them to see if they could assist us in providing comfort for those displaced. They sent us 100 pillows that were distributed to those that lost their homes. We are touched by their gracious donation, and hope that these pillows brought comfort for our neighbors in Greenville.

Connected Communities

Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship

Our organization exists to bring a connection between the land and the people who use it. Helping to empower our communities to develop strategies that strengthen their economies, retain and attract residents, create local jobs and engage youth, by curating spaces that encourage healthy, recreation based lifestyles. Connected Communities has the potential to bring life back into the communities that have lost so much lately.

Greenville, a stop on our Connected Communities map and an important piece of the Lost Sierra Route, will remain a priority for us. We believe that we can help this town rebuild. Breathing new life into the heart of the community while remembering the history of the land and it's people. We want to provide space for community members to connect with the land and help it heal. A space where visitors from near and far come to recreate, driving tourism dollars back into the pockets of the community. A place where youth can explore nature, learn about stewardship and play. A place for all trail users to enjoy.

The community of Greenville and Indian Valley has gathered, holding public community meetings that discuss the concerns of residents and the planning stages that are to take place as rebuilding begins. SBTS staff will be attending these meetings to stay involved and up to date on the progress.

Start Thinking About Christmas (Yes, We Mean It)

The Toy Store

Believe it or not, Santa is already accepting letters this year! Due to a slow-down in elf manufacturing and a pile up of North Pole shipping containers, Santa is experiencing a longer lead time than usual. So for you parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles- The Toy Store is taking orders now! Let us know your wish list as soon as you can so we can make sure you get your gifts in time! An important message from the Holderness Family...
