What Are We Up To?

Quincy Chamber of Commerce

- We have been busy, busy, busy putting together the Pumpkin Carving Contest, Safe Trick-or-Treat and starting work on Sparkle

- Candy donation boxes were delivered earlier this week to Plumas Bank and Sav Mor Foods.  A huge shout-out to both businesses for helping us receive candy donations!

- We met with various representatives from Plumas Bank, Lake Almanor Chamber, Feather River Tourism Association, Spanish Peak Productions, Dynamic Cinema Production and more on Friday to discuss creating a video to promote tourism in Plumas County after the Dixie Fire.  More details to follow.

- Flower Baskets will be picked up on Saturday, October 16th and taken back to Martin's Greenhouse for winter storage, where they will be planted again for next season.  IF YOU HAVE SOME OF THE FLOWER BASKETS IN FRONT OF YOUR BUSINESS: Please remove the baskets from your hooks and set them on the ground by Saturday morning, October 16th, for us to pick up.  We will be calling all participating businesses over the next week for a brief survey and to remind you of the pickup requirements.  Thank you to all who participated and took such great care of the baskets!  We received LOTS of compliments on them and we're thrilled to keep this project going!

- The Member Resource Center is LIVE!  The Center contains lots of short videos that will teach you everything you need to know about running your business: from cybersecurity, to social media, to sales calls.  It is a JAM PACKED resource available to all of our Chamber members!  We'll be highlighting more about that in the months to come.  Want to check it out for yourself?  Log in to your Chamber site through http://www.quincychamber.com/ and scroll to the bottom, then click on the button that says "Member Resource Center".

- The QR Code has been "backburnered" for the moment, but we'll be updating you with the code in the next few months!

The candy donation boxes are located inside Plumas Bank at 336 W. Main Street, and Sav Mor Foods between aisles 2 and 3.  Please consider donating a bag or two of candy to help support our local merchants who are always willing to go above and beyond to make this community the fun place it is to live, work and play!

The boxes will be picked up on Monday, October 18th and then the candy is distributed among our Chamber member businesses that will be participating at Safe Trick-or-Treat.  If your business wants to receive some of the donated candy, please email us at info@quincychamber.com or give us a call at (530) 394-0541.

Treasure Map Update

Quincy Chamber of Commerce

Is your business doing a little "extra" for Safe Trick-or-Treat?  Decorating face masks or making Trick-or-Treat bags?  Flash mob, anyone?  Let us know and we'll add you to our first-ever Treasure Map for Safe Trick-or-Treat.

Don't know what it is?  We're putting together a "map" of various places around town to direct folks to for some added fun during (and after) Safe Trick-or-Treat.  Extras would be anything besides handing out candy, or if you're not directly downtown where the bulk of the action is.

Maps are free and will be available at the Quincy Chamber of Commerce booth in front of the courthouse during the event and posted on our social media sites before Safe Trick-or-Treat.

Deadline to be added to the map is Friday, October 22nd at 5:00 p.m.

Music on the Green Revival

Plumas Arts

Plumas Arts and Indian Valley community members are working with PUSD to put this event on. Please spread the word.

STOP!

Quincy Chamber of Commerce

WE NEED YOUR HELP!  We only need THREE (3) MORE adult volunteers to help with Crossing Guard duty during Safe Trick-or-Treat.  If you're interested, send us an email at info@quincychamber.com.

Volunteers will meet in front of the Courthouse at the Quincy Chamber of Commerce booth at 2:30 p.m. on October 29th, where adults will be given stop signs and the S Club student volunteers will be given safety vests.  Adults and students will be paired up to cover all the crosswalks on Main Street from Subway to Plumas Bank.

Pay is strictly with heaping levels of gratitude and seeing a bunch of happy kids (and adults) during one of our area's most beloved events.

REMSA Receives Award

REMSA Health

We are proud to announce that we have been recognized by the American Heart Association as a Mission: Lifeline - EMS Gold Plus award recipient.

Mission: Lifeline EMS recognition is a program designed to showcase Emergency Medical Service organizations across the nation for excellent STEMI care. A STEMI is the most severe type of heart attack. Along with bystanders, prehospital personnel are the first providers of care to patients suffering from cardiac emergencies. The role of EMS in the system-of-care for these patients is crucial and often sets the course for the patient's outcome.

REMSA Health was selected as part of an elite group of prehospital agencies for our commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of prehospital care for patients experiencing heart attack symptoms. This means that every patient receives treatment according to nationally accepted recommendations and standards.
This recognition would not be possible without the dedication of our crews and their consistent commitment to clinical excellence.
