In Honor of Native American Heritage Month

Feather River College


In honor of #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth, Feather River College asked some of its Native students what their thoughts were on Thanksgiving, celebrating a month in their honor, and other important issues affecting Native culture. Their responses were varied, insightful, and powerful.

Big Week for the Golden Eagles

Feather River College



It was a big week for the Feather River College Athletic Department. The men's soccer team clinched the Golden Valley Conference (GVC) championship on Tuesday (11/9), the women's volleyball team clinched the GVC championship on Wednesday (11/10), and the football team clinched the American - Pacific 7 conference championship on Saturday (11/13). 

Soccer

The men's soccer team clinched the GVC championship against College of the Redwoods with a 7-0 victory. The Golden Eagles finished with an 8-1-1 conference record and an overall record of 11-7-2. This is the first GVC championship since 2016. The Golden Eagles will host a playoff game on Saturday 11/20 at 1 pm.  

Volleyball

The women's volleyball team clinched the GVC championship against Shasta College with a 3-0 victory. The Golden Eagles finished with a perfect 10-0 conference record and an overall record of 29-1. This is their 11th consecutive Golden Valley Conference Championship and are currently ranked #1 in the State of California. Playoff seeding and dates will be announced later this week.

Football  

The football team clinched the American - Pacific 7 conference championship against Foothill College with a 40-9 victory. The Golden Eagles finished with a perfect 5-0 conference record and an overall record of 9-0. This is the first league championship in the history of Feather River College football. The Golden Eagles will host the Northern California American Championship Bowl against Monterey Peninsula College on Saturday 11/27 at 1 pm.

A special joint board meeting between Plumas Unified School District and Feather River College is scheduled for Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 3pm via Zoom.

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Mandatory for Many Businesses

The Department of Fair Employment and Housing

The Department of Fair Employment and Housing provides free online training courses on preventing sexual harassment and abusive conduct in the workplace that satisfy California’s legal training requirements pursuant to Gov’t Code 12950.1.

California law requires all employers of 5 or more employees to provide 1 hour of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to nonsupervisory employees and 2 hours of sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to supervisors and managers once every two years. The law requires the training to include practical examples of harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.

  • The training is accessible on a computer or mobile device.
  • Internet browsers required:
    • Windows: Microsoft Edge (latest version), Google Chrome (latest version), Firefox (latest version)

California Employer Requirements
