Quincy Chamber of Commerce - All 70 flower baskets were successfully delivered and hung on Saturday. They're looking great! - Cheryl attended the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities meeting on Wednesday, May 18th. Look for a separate invitation to come via email for the June 8th and 9th meetings and workshop. - We had our Board meeting this morning and discussed the RERC, our draft budget for the 22/23 fiscal year, talked flower baskets, discussed the PG&E settlement (more details to follow), and talked about the Fair Parade. FLY to Neverland this week! West End Theatre This week, the Magic Beanstalk Players, dramaworks youth theatre program for K-8th grade students, will whisk audiences away to a place where dreams are born and no one ever grows up! With a sprinkle of fairy dusk, Peter Pan and the Darling children go on a magical journey across the stars to Neverland. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, the Lost Boys, a clan of warrior Brave Girls, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook! With iconic songs like, “I’m Flying,” “I Won’t Grow Up,” and “Never Never Land,” this musical will bring out the child in everyone! Director, Danielle Wagner Plocki, states... “We are thrilled to be able to have live children’s theatre at the West End Theatre again! After being halted by lockdown just weeks shy of opening night in 2020, it's now time to bring this show back to life.” We offered all roles to original cast members regardless of current grade level, and also held auditions for new students who wanted to be part of the show. We have over 50 Plumas County students involved in this production. There are two casts, the Neverland Cast performs 5/19 at 7pm and 5/21 at 2pm and 5pm, the Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust Cast performs 5/20 at 7pm and 5/22 at 2pm and 5pm. Tickets are available at www.westendtheatre.us Graduation This Friday Feather River College GRADUATION IS THIS FRIDAY, MAY 20! The commencement ceremony will begin at 1:00pm at Brennan Stadium at the FRC campus. We look forward to celebrating this group of students who have remained resilient through a couple difficult years of unexpected changes. Troop 151, Quincy Come learn about Scouting. We are reviving Pack 151 (Grades K-5) and Troop 151 (Ages 11-17) in Quincy, CA on Sunday, June 5th from noon - 4:00 p.m. at the Plumas Unified School District lawn (50 Church Street). Scouts BSA is a year-round program for youth 11-17 years old that provides fun, adventure, learning, challenge, and responsibility to help them become the best version of themselves. Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family. In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.
