Below are the Visit California story topics for this month.  Deadline to email your story ideas to me is Tuesday July 12th. 
A reminder that 150-words is the maximum for a story idea.  Just a couple sentences is acceptable.  Visit California has journalists on staff so please don’t feel you need to take the time to write a story; they are just wanting story ideas.
 
The information bulleted below must be included for Visit California to consider your submission.
•             Include a 1-2 high res photos with your story if possible and the name of the photographer for photo credits
•             Story content should not be a Press Release and needs to be 150 words or less
•             Include a public contact including name, email, and phone number

Visit Native California   
What Native American cultural or heritage sites and experiences can visitors encounter in your destination? Examples include tours, outdoor activities, major historic or prehistoric sites, museums, cultural centers, special events or classes and more. Be sure to share their significance to the local tribal community.
 
International Beer Day
As International Beer Day (Aug. 5) approaches, share more about the BIPOC-, LGBTQ- or woman-led breweries in your community.
 
California Wine Month Stories
We are looking for wineries that fit into the below categories, to help us tell unique stories for California Wine Month. Please submit information about: 1) Wineries with amazing views; 2) Wineries that have unusual or notable tours; 3) Wineries that are perfect for novice wine-drinkers; or 4) Wineries that are perfect for true wine connoisseurs.
 
Acoustic Autumn
Tell us about the top fall activities in your destination including music festivals, apple orchards, seasonal tours and more.
 
Extreme Sports
Share what extreme sports can be enjoyed in your destination, and where/how. Be sure to include both winter and summer sports.

TYPO FOUND IN EXHIBIT GUIDE! YIKES!

If you are entering a baked item in the Fair, please note the times for receiving your entry is incorrect in the exhibit guide. It says to bring them in the Friday and Saturday before the fair, which would make for some DRY entries! The guide should have said to bring your baked goods in on Tuesday between 8am and 11am. Judging is at 1pm. Pass on the word!
