What Are We Up To?

Quincy Chamber of Commerce

- We had our monthly Board meeting yesterday morning via Zoom and had lots to discuss!

- We picked up the second check from PG&E for the settlement funds and have officially received the full $300,000.00 District Attorney Hollister was able to procure for each Chamber.

- Our employee, Cheryl, attended the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities (RERC) Zoom meeting on June 27th with the next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, July 20th at 9:00 a.m.  The Quincy Revitalization group met on Tuesday, July 12th at Quincy Provisions and progress is being made toward establishing a Visitors Center, working toward more public bathrooms, and revitalization project goals.

- Cheryl also attended the last Digital Optimization Program webinar on Thursday, June 30th.  Stay tuned as we fine-tune what she's learned so we can roll this out to Plumas County businesses.

- Cheryl has been busy coordinating with the three other Plumas County Chambers of Commerce (Indian Valley Chamber, Lake Almanor Chamber and the Lost Sierra Chamber) to provide an information booth during the Fair inside Serpilio Hall.  We'd love to see you there!

- The Fair Parade is coming along.  We are still needing volunteers to help with staging and judging.  If you're interested please give us a call at (530) 394-0541 or email us at info@quincychamber.com.

- VIP Passes for the parade and the Fair are available now!  Call us at (530) 394-0541 or email us at info@quincychamber.com to reserve your spot.  Limited to the first 16 people, so don't miss out!

- Sadly, one of our Welcome High Sierra Music Festival banners was stolen and will need to be replaced.

Dixie Fire Stories

Plumas Arts

It's a heavy day in Plumas County today. July 13 is the one-year anniversary of the start of the Dixie Fire. It's been a tough year for many in our county, and this anniversary is not necessarily one for celebration. Although, with the support of our communities and neighbors, it is amazing how far we have come in one year.

For the month of July and August, the Plumas Arts Gallery will feature an exhibition of the Dixie Fire Stories Project. The Dixie Fire Stories Project was started by Joanne Burgueño and Sara Gray to record and share the stories of Dixie Fire survivors.

Primarily a social media project, Joanne and Sara capture and present the voices of survivors from our communities in hopes to facilitate a cathartic experiences among county residents. The exhibition at the gallery features select images from the project and is partnered with excerpts from the survivor's story.

Plumas Arts hopes by sharing these images and stories, that we can come together and to grieve and continue to heal through art.

Plumas Arts together with The Dixie Fire Stories Project was recently selected for a California Arts Council Impact Project Grant to help expand the reach of the project through a website and book. The Dixie Fire Stories Project hopes to move the exhibition around the county and launch a book featuring survivor's stories by June 2023.

We hope you get the chance to stop by the gallery during the next seven weeks to view the show.

Jeffrey's Pub & Grub

We are going to be closing permanently. We will be open through this weekend trying to run through some of the food that we have so if there is something that you really love to eat, come get it before the end of this weekend. Also, If you have any gift certificates, make sure you come use them before we close. My husband and I will always love this business and this building as I have been associated with it for 22 years when I first started at the Courthouse Cafe.
