Free Movie About Women Firefighters
Feather River College
Free Showing on Thursday April 20th at 7:00 PM
Hosted by Feather River College Earth Day Activities
APACHE 8 tells the story of an all-women wildland firefighter crew from the White Mountain Apache Tribe, who have been fighting fires in Arizona and throughout the U.S., for over 30 years. The film delves into the challenging lives of these Native firefighters. Four extraordinary women from different generations of the Apache 8 crew share their personal narratives with humor and tenderness. They speak of hardship and loss, family and community, and pride in being a firefighter from Fort Apache. APACHE 8 weaves together a compelling tale of these remarkable firefighters, revealed for the first time. Watch the movie preview.

Spring is (finally!) upon us in the Lost Sierra, and with it, the opening of shuttle season Yuba Expeditions. Most of the lower-elevations trails on Mount Hough are running well and we're currently booking shuttles to start on Saturday, April 29th—the same weekend as our first Mountain Epic volunteer weekend of the year, which also takes place on the Hough trails in Quincy. $40 will get you two shuttles up to about 5,600 feet, where you can access Lower Hough, Lower Tollgate, Berry Creek and Chandler trails.
Book your shuttle reservation here and if you want to join us to dig in the dirt for the Epic, add your name to the list!

Summer Farm Camp for Kids
Lost Sierra Food Project
We are so excited to announce that we will be hosting four weeks of farm camp this summer. Our farm educator, Farmer Kari, has designed two fun and unique camp themes:
At Farm and Forage camp, kids will explore the farm and surrounding natural habitat to learn about the ways our farm depends upon the feather river watershed! We will get to know native plants, sing songs, make and eat farm fresh food, and practice caring for the farm and the land that holds it!
Get your passport! At Around the World Farm Camp, we will learn about food and craft traditions from several different cultures and nations! How do people in Japan use plants to dye beautiful blue cloth? Which vegetables on our farm can we use to make a tasty dish from Tanzania? Come and find out!
To register please visit our website. Scholarships are available. Can't wait for summer!
