Fundraising for Flower Baskets

Quincy Chamber of Commerce

😊 We are halfway to our fundraising goal!

🌱 So far we have raised $2,500 out of our goal of $5,000, and 7 out of 22 baskets downtown have been sponsored.

🌞 If you love these baskets as much as we do, please consider donating to the Flower Baskets project!

🌸 All contributions count, but if you donate $300 or more you can sponsor a basket for an entire growing season. Basket sponsors also receive a plaque under one of the baskets with the name of the donor and a brief message the donor would like to share.

🎕 Donations accepted at Plumas Arts and The Toy Store. Any donation amount is welcome!

The Great Outdoors of Plumas County

Talk about good timing! When waterfalls and wildflowers begin fading in other places, there’s an outdoors mecca that’ll be freshly blooming—and H2O booming: Plumas County!

With over 100 lakes, 1,000 miles of streams and rivers, and just three traffic signals in the entire county, this vast, fun, and friendly northern Sierra destination will be vibrant in May and June—all the way into deep summer. Places like Lassen Volcanic National Park will be a sea of technicolor landscape, and the record winter snowfall has made Plumas extra waterfall—with dozens of flows to find! Book your perfect lodging (from rustic to luxurious), and get ready to hike, bike, canoe, and road trip amid a landscape glistening with waterfalls and aglow in wildflowers. Now’s the time to plan for Plumas County. Top photo by Jake Edwards - Scenescapery.

Dirt Magic: Epic Good Times

Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship

Spring is Here — Come Join Us On The Trails!

Spring is coming, the snow is quickly melting and the season to make Dirt Magic is fast-approaching. Volunteers are the beating heart of our organization and we have a full slate of volunteer opportunities this spring and summer to get your hands dirty in the dirt, or be on the frontlines of fun at one of our events. Read on for the nitty gritty:

Epic Good Times

First up is the Quincy Epic this weekend, April 28-30, the first of three Mountain Epics on the calendar this year. Epics are fun-filled volunteer weekends, with a solid day of trail work on Saturday, followed by dinner, games, and camping Saturday evening at the Plumas Sierra County Fairgrounds, and capped by group rides, runs, or hikes on Sunday. There are still plenty of slots left to join the digging party, which will be making progress on new construction on Mount Hough. Find all the details and sign-up sheets HERE.

Volunteers Needed for Spring Clean-Up

Feather River Food Co-op

Spring weather is finally here and to us, that means another opportunity to get outside and begin our Adopt-A-Highway program!! This is one of the most rewarding endeavors that we have continued for over a decade, with our most recent adoption of a portion of Highway 70 in Portola.

This is a great opportunity for student organizations, families, & neighbors, who are looking for volunteer hours (must be 16 years or older) or anyone who wants to contribute to cleaning up our communities! The first spring clean-up dates will be May 6th in Portola & in May 21st in Quincy. Future dates are posted at both stores & at https://featherriver.coop/community/
