About Us
INGRAM BARGE COMPANY is the leading carrier on America's inland waterways. Our principal strengths include our dynamic people, leading-edge systems, and our commitment to quality. We operate nearly 4,000 barges powered by the best towboat fleet in the industry. With over 100 linehaul vessels ranging up to 10,500 horsepower and approximately 40 boats under 1800 horsepower, Ingram can accommodate a wide array of shipping needs. We transport cargoes including coal, grain, aggregates, fertilizer, ores, alloys, steel products, and chemicals.
Information and communication are the cornerstones of Ingram Barge Company's superior customer service. Ingram has state-of-the-art information systems that provide direct satellite communications with our towboats. This means we can instantly pinpoint the location of towboats and barges and estimate accurate times of arrival. And we make this valuable information accessible to our customers. By tapping into our mainframe and web-based systems, customers get the information they want, when they want it.
Our towboats are equipped with the latest available navigational systems. We've pioneered the use of electronic charting systems using Differential Global Positioning Systems and radar integration technology. This provides our experienced captains and pilots with the information they need to plot the best and safest routes for our towboats.
Our skilled and experienced associates are committed to getting the job done right. We are determined to deliver on time and within budget. We pride ourselves on moving freight faster, better and safer than any other barge line, while complying with all environmental requirements.
Watch for Ingram towboats on these rivers: Mississippi, Ohio, Cumberland, Tennessee, Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Kanawha, Illinois and the Monongahela
