Brad Gasaway
VP of Marketing at Namify
Brad Gasaway has been the Vice President of Marketing at Namify for 16 years. He oversees internal and external branding initiatives for Namify and three of its subsidiaries. The 2008 economic downturn put a strain on the growing business. During this trying time, Brad said that "suddenly the promotional space felt like the very bottom of the totem pole, so we had to reimagine our target audiences and find the niches that were somehow thriving at that time. One of them was the Race industry (health and fitness). After putting our heads together, we decided to leverage our manufacturing contacts, design skills, and available shirt presses to solve a longstanding problem for race directors: most of them lived with the frustration of having to place their t-shirt orders several weeks in advance and just guess at how many shirts of each size they would actually need come race day. We designed a light and desirable race-day tee that could be printed from inventory in 3 days or less, so race directors could literally take registrations right up to the week of the event and end up with very accurate orders." The struggling business was able to rethink how they did business and turn the downfall around. As Namify continues to grow, they continue to discover new ways to improve how they do business while developing creative and productive ways to help their clients grow their businesses.
Namify wasn't born in Springville. Like many business owners in Springville and Mapleton, they are transplants to the growing area and have been raised and are flourishing in this beautiful city. In 2006 Namify moved its headquarters from Provo to Springville. It was at this time that they joined the chamber. As a local, family-owned business, they truly wanted to thrive in Springville, both financially and philanthropically, and as a contributing part of the community and have been longtime members.
Brad has been a big part of the growth of the chamber. He has been an advocate for discussing the current and forthcoming trends of an evolving workforce. He stated, "If the greatest asset and concern of our businesses is their people, then that's where we can potentially help them the most. I've seen our Chamber entertain more and more of these conversations in recent years, and I feel that will continue to be imperative if we are to stay relevant and make an impact."
Brad and his wife have six wonderfully active children. They spend most of their free time supporting them in various sports and activities and hope to travel more, particularly visiting National Parks. They love being outdoors in awe-inspiring places, especially the mountains.
Brad brings with him great ideas and even better advice. He encourages all business owners to focus on three points.
- Really dig to find out what makes your employees happy and help acquire more of that.
- Vulnerability as a leader is a strength, not a weakness.
- Find creative ways to serve the community ... do the unexpected, and invite your clients and prospects to join you.
