About Housing Authority City of Sylvester
The Housing Authority of the City of Sylvester has 122 USDA Rural Development apartments and 260 Public Housing apartments which are located in Sylvester and Warwick. The Authority will assist you in determining eligibility. They have established guidelines in determining eligibility for admission to and for continued occupancy of public housing.
The Authority works with a wide range of agencies and funding sources to offer services to our residents. The goals of these programs range from protecting residents with community police patrols to increasing positive activities for youth and seniors. The Authority assists in educating residents in the areas of health and positive lifestyle choices and helping residents achieve self-sufficiency through adult literacy courses, life skill classes and adult and youth activities.
The Housing Authority of the City of Sylvester was organized in 1952 under the laws of the State of Georgia to provide low rent housing for qualified individuals in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and other Federal Agencies. The Housing Authority is an Equal Housing Provider.
