Wishing Fathers Everywhere a Happy Fathers Day!

Living through Disruption

Isabel Georgelos, THCC Interim President/CEO

Unless you have been under a rock, it is evident, we are experiencing significant change.  I spoke with a member this week who felt like every day is “Groundhog Day”.  They wake up hoping today will be a return to normal, only repeat another day in a time of pandemic.  I listened to a person who felt events are being over-blown and they refuse to allow it to take over their lives.  Lastly, I listened and helped someone who was looking for support and assistance, to keep moving forward.  We are all experiencing moments of one these realities, or possibly all.

How are you celebrating Father's Day?

We are all in this Together!

The Tucson Hispanic Chamber received a call on Thursday 6/18/20.  It was from Bret McIntosh, the General Manager of the LOWES store at 1800 W. Valencia Rd.  Bret had 4000 masks he wanted to donate by the end of day.  Bret wanted to help small businesses in the community.  We were happy to put him in touch with as many  businesses as possible.  In 24 hours Bret personally distributed 4000+ masks to small businesses in the community!  Thank you Bret for your efforts to promote public health!

Immigration has given those outlets increasingly transnational audiences of readers and viewers seeking information from both their new home countries and their countries of origin. As outlets have moved online, it has made it easier for readers to access, from just about anywhere, news from a specific city, country or region.
