Thoughtful quotes

"This concept of vecindad is very unique and special to us Latinos, we build our communities by taking care of each other, everyone is welcomed, we create learning communities, we simply support one another."

"For lasting change, we must ensure our kids can ready by 3rd grade.  That immediately changes their ability to believe they can!"

"To support each other we need to see it as empathy, social support, and resilience within our communities.  We need that, at the end of the day."

Celebrating a week of Heritage and the impact of the Hispanic Market in Tucson & Southern Arizona

Isabel Georgelos

We wish to thank all of those who made our event possible.  This year we launched our first Virtual Conference Event and Business Expo.  We were humbled by the passion and knowledge of our Speakers and Presenters.  We were inspired by the messages and perspectives shared and how it was all supported by the data in the Hispanic Market Outlook Report.  In the end, we were reminded that as we strive to embraces our differences, we all share commonalities.  We all want to see a better world for our families and communities.  That is why we are making a call to action.  Very simply, visit the website and download the report, share the report, and learn more about the community you do business with.

Hispanic Market Outlook - Thank you Juan Ciscomani

The Tucson Hispanic Chamber finished the last day of the Hispanic Market Outlook Virtual Event with our esteemed Juan Ciscomani, Senior Advisor for Regional and International Affairs Office of the Arizona Governor.  Juan honored educators and shared a personal story of Mrs. Gallego a teacher who impacted his life and school experience that formed his future.

He shared his experience and the value of higher education starting at Pima Community College, followed by the University of Arizona.  Highlighting that everyone's journey is different and the value of following your own path.  Juan thanked The Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Telemundo, and all the sponsors for delivering this year's Hispanic Market Outlook Report and encouraged the community to continue to engage in the conversation beyond Hispanic Heritage month, "keep the conversation and engagement going".

Meet COMCE Mexico

We were honored to have COMCE Mexico attend and participate in a panel discussion on SME's and E-Commerce.  USMCA has passed and now it is up to all of us to educate ourselves.  USMCA is not just about trade, and there is more opportunity for businesses to explore.  As Mr. Victor Hugo Gamas, stated it is about getting started.  There are opportunties for cross-border business and procurement.
As Victor Hugo Gamas stated, "it's just about getting started."

Thank you to our Health Panel

It was another great day on Thursday with a powerful discussion with our Health Panel. It is clear that COVID-19 has brought to light other issues the Hispanic community faces.  The message was clear Wear A Mask, Wash Your Hands, and Practice Social Distrancing.

Thank you, Laura Oldaker for moderating the panel, Dr Francisco Moreno, Lorena Verdugo, and Dr. Nicholas Vasquez.  Thank you!
