It was a year ago, on March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global pandemic.  Then, President Donald Trump, suspended travel from Europe, Italy closed all restaurants and shops, the NBA suspended its season, St. Patrick’s Day parades were being cancelled, the first Congressional staffer tested positive, and Washington D.C.’s mayor followed 23 other states in declaring a state of emergency.

Final passage by the House on 3/10/21 of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package that will deliver $1,400 stimulus checks to millions of Americans, extend enhanced unemployment benefits and boost funding to ramp up vaccine distribution and reopen schools.  President Biden, on Thursday 3/11/21, signed the $1.9 trillion Covid-19 stimulus package by Congress, the American Rescue Plan.

Gov. Doug Ducey tells Arizonans in tele-town hall, “I want you to trust the vaccine.”

On Tuesday 3/9/21, Gov. Doug Ducey held a “tele-town hall”.   Callers shared their concerns with getting the COVID-19 vaccinations.  The Governor acknowledged their concerns and reassured the public the vaccine is safe.  He further stated, “President (Joe) Biden has gotten the vaccine. Vice President Kamala Harris has gotten the vaccine. Former President Donald Trump has gotten it; former Vice President Mike Pence has gotten it. Our very own director of health services, Dr. Cara Christ, has gotten it.”  The Governor reminded the public that he had recently received his first vaccine shot and called for trust in the vaccine.
