Dream and Promise Act and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act

NAE today

What is the NAE?
It offers both pathways to U.S citizenship for many immigrants with longstanding ties to the United States.

Business leaders from around the country urged a bipartisan group of key Senators to act on immigration reform. More than 250 business, faith, civic leader US Chamber of Commerce and more participated in meeting the 21 senate offices.

Immigration can give substantial economic benefits a more flexible labor market, greater skills base, increased demand, and a greater diversity of innovation. However, immigration is also controversial because immigration can cause issues of overcrowding, congestion, and extra pressure on public services.

GOV. DUCEY SIGNS MAJOR CHAMBER PRIORITY INTO LAW

Governor Ducey on Monday signed into law S.B. 1377, one of the Chamber’s top priorities for the session. The new law establishes commonsense liability protections for health care providers, businesses, schools and universities, non-profits, and government entities that are taking responsible steps to prevent the spread of the virus. It’s good news for businesses getting back to some semblance of normalcy without having to worry about the threat of abusive litigation.

Governor Ducey extends Income tax Filing

May 17, 2021 is the final deadline to submit your income tax in Arizona.

What is SB 1297?
Senate Bill 1297, ensure that taxpayers filing state tax returns or submitting payments prior to May 17 will not be assessed late payment penalties.

Before the state income filing deadline was April 15 and now it will be May 17, it will give Arizonans the freedom to file their state taxes at the same time as their federal taxes.

Digital Discussion with Cecilia Mata

Isabel Georgelos

This week THCC spoke with Cecilia Mata, founder, president and owner of AllSource Global Management, LLC, a professional services company doing business with the Department of Defense. She grew the company into a comprehensive enterprise that offered diverse products and services to a host of organizations both public and private. Cecilia Mata founded another company specializing in armed and unarmed security services and purchased an aerospace engineering design and manufacturing company.  In 2020 she was appointed by Governor Doug Ducey to the Arizona Board of Regents.  Regent Mata has also served on the Executive Committee of Workforce Arizona Council, and former Chair of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

We caught up with her as she launches another business, AGM's E-Learning website for business owners interested in diversifying.  The website offers development on how to do business with the government.  That include -
  • Ensuring your fundamentals are in place
  • Leveraging resources available
  • Zeroing in on your specialty
