Biden Administration reviewing the American Jobs Plan Act

On April 13, 2021 Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce co-sponsored and participated in the White House Zoom meeting to review the American Jobs Plan Act. The Biden-Harris Administration spoke about how the American Jobs Plan will help small business owners.
 
According to the White House Small Business for America's Future “Prior to the pandemic, more than half of small business owners said infrastructure investments are crucial to the success of their business, 7 in 10 felt it was important for Congress to fund broadband projects, and nearly two-thirds considered local roads and bridges average, poor or very poor quality.”
 
The American Jobs Plan it to reduce small business shipping by upgrading our nation’s transportation infrastructure and help shops reach new customers.

Governor Ducey providing $600 million in tax relief for taxpayers & small businesses

The Governor of Arizona signed a bipartisan, unanimous tax relief, aligning the state’s tax law with federal law and resulting in $600 in savings for taxpayers.
 
Economic Hardship due to pandemic:
 
Senate Bill 1752 conforms Arizona’s state tax code to the changes made to federal tax law to help taxpayers and small businesses navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
$600 million tax cut, businesses will be provided immediate relief for any losses suffered during the pandemic, full conformity to federal tax treatment of Paycheck Protection Program loans to exempt them from state income tax, and a state income tax exemption for the first $10,000 in unemployment insurance benefits received in 2020.

Governor Ducey appoints Ted Maxwell to the Arizona State Transportation Board


Governor Doug Ducey today announced the appointment of retired Major General Ted Maxwell to the Arizona State Transportation Board, filling the final spot on the board.

“Major General Maxwell brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the State Transportation Board,” said Governor Ducey. “His years of leadership, involvement in the Southern Arizona community, and dedication to expanding opportunities across the state will benefit the Board well.”   Ted Maxwell is President & CEO of Southern Arizona Leadership Council.

Available at University of Arizona POD: 16-18 years of age can ONLY receive the Pfizer vaccine.

  • Staff can help register individuals for the other major vaccination sites in the County, including at Banner-South Kino, Tucson Medical Center, the University of Arizona, and the Kino Event Center.

  • Open 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
  • Johnson and Johnson Vaccine age 18 and above

New Kino Event Center, 2805 E. Ajo Way, (Registration opens April 9)
  • Vaccines beginning April 12, open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
  • Moderna Vaccine age 18 and above
