Kaolin Festival is upon us so let’s get in the spirit of our Festival theme!!
Kaolin Through The Decades – The 50’s – Happy Days
The Kaolin Festival committee has worked hard at making sure this year’s festival is a success.
So just how exactly can you and your business get in the spirit?!? Here are some opportunities:
Décor’

Monday, October 9th until Sunday, October 15th
Businesses are encouraged to decorate their storefront area or windows in all things 1950’s . All decorations must be localized to your business.
Businesses are asked to be decorated by Monday, October 9
th until Sunday, October 15th
. During Kaolin Festival week chamber representatives will come around and snap photos of all the participating businesses and organizations. All photos will be advertised through chamber advertising avenues such as social media, using the hashtag #50’sKaolinFestival .
Thursday Night on the Square – a Shop WaCo First Event

Thursday, October 12th, from 6:00-9:00pm
Participating stores will be decorated and open for business (6:00 – 9:00 PM). We encourage those that are dressing up as 1950’s characters to be available for autographs & pictures. This is a great opportunity for Washington County citizens to stroll downtown, see store fronts, and

Winner Announced at 8:00 PM
Any business or organization that would like to enter please dress in your best 1950’s character and arrive at the Gazebo by 6:15 to register. This will be an opportunity for however you’d like to showcase your characters signing talents, outfit or persona. So bring out the best Elvis, Marilyn, ‘The Fonze” or any 1950’s character we all remember and love!!
Winner will receive bragging rights to the “ Best of the Best 50’s Contest” plus a snack break treat, you pick the date we supply the ice cream party for the entire business, all courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce.
Kaolin Festival T-Shirt Day

Friday, October 13th, All Day
The Guild of Washington County and the Chamber of Commerce deem this day to be wear your Kaolin Festival T-Shirt Day !! Washington Co. Board of Education & Brentwood have also approved this day. If you haven’t had a chance to purchase yours swing by the Chamber, Deep River Outfitters or any Guild member.
