Brentwood hosted the 2017 Region 2AA Championship Wednesday afternoon with each Brentwood runner running their best times of the entire Cross Country season! Congratulations to Brentwood’s Varsity Boys Team, who secured the Region Runner-Up trophy and to Brentwood’s Varsity Girls Team, who are the Region Champions for the 4th year in a row!
Hagen Boyen led the Boys’ team with a personal best time of 19:53! He placed 4th overall and received an All-Region award. Following Boyen was Drew Wilson in 8th place, Christopher Kitchens in 9th, Matt Miller in 10th, Vincent Foglia in 12th, and TJ Raughton in 17th place.
Michael Ann Hood led the Brentwood Girls’ team to a win by placing 3rd overall! Hood and Becky Carter (5th place) received All –Region awards. Avery Phillips placed 7th, Jil Musselwhite placed 8th, Carson McAfee in 9th, Alexis Smith in 11th, and Annie Lynn Carter in 14th place.
“All of our Summer miles brought Autumn smiles! What a way to finish our season!”, says Coach Kerri Hood. Coach Kerri Hood was also awarded GISA Cross Country Coach of the Year at the awards ceremony.
The Brentwood Varsity teams qualified to run at the State Cross Country meet on October 28 at Monsignor Donovan in Athens.
