The Washington County Chamber of Commerce encourages you to attend the Open House tomorrow and to make a written submission of support for the Sandersville – Tennille Truck Route. This 3.7 mile stretch will connect to the already under construction northern  portion of the truck route. This truck route is vital for the continued growth of Washington County and serves as the beginning of the long term effort to four lane Georgia State Route 15 between I 20 and I 16. Fluid mobility of freight and our citizens is important to the economic vitality of Washington County and our region. In recent years our north/south traffic levels have dropped due to more people using US 1 to our east and US 441 to our west. By having a four lane Georgia State Route 15 it will provide a safe and efficient thoroughfare for traffic going to the Port of Savannah, Atlanta, and Athens.
