Pickle Barrel Ribbon Cutting



The ribbon has been cut at the Pickle Barrel Cafe & Sports Pub! We appreciate that they’ve chosen Washington County as their newest location and wish them much success! If you haven’t had a chance to dine with them yet, check out their FB for hours and menu. To-go orders are also available. They are located at 133 E Haynes Street in downtown Sandersville.



2021-2022 Youth Leadership Graduates



Congratulations to the 2021-2022 Youth Leaders graduating class! Today twenty-four students from Brentwood and Washington County High School celebrated their successful completion of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership program. We are so proud of these students and can’t wait to see great things from them in their future!

Downtown Sandersville was filled with red,white and blue for the Allisha Gray Community Celebration! The parade led her to the gazebo on the square where multiple entities declared their support and congratulations to Allisha for her accomplishments! 








The New Georgia Economy Tour- Georgia Chamber  



The Washington Co. Chamber had the honor of being part of the New Georgia Economy Tour for the Georgia Chamber this Thursday. Chris Clark, President & CEO of the Georgia Chamber presented valuable information about future trends and projections that spoke to the entire crowd. The meeting concluded with a survey from attendees that Chris will take back and use to structure a comprehensive planning strategy to win the war for talent and more!




IGAL Groundbreaking 


The Chamber took part in the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the IGAL (Innovative Gifted Accelerated Learning) Academy at Washington County School System!
The IGAL Academy is an adaptable space that will allow Elementary students the opportunity to cycle through and experience project based learning. It will also provide the CTAE Department with a Culinary Arts Pathway and expand the High School Tennis program.

In conjunction with the Sandersville Main Street, Third Thursday was held on St. Patrick's Day. 
Fun was had by all, shoppers were out and about, people dined locally, shamrock's were found and a green fountain all adorned downtown Sandersville. The next Third Thursday will be held in June. 





WACO Works

Waco Works - Spring edition was held last Thursday at OFTC and local businesses. Over fifty students from WCHS participated and focused on business, cyber, criminal justice and healthcare futures. They had the opportunity to learn about the programs available at OFTC and then actual careers here in Washington County! Students toured, WCRMC, the Washington County Courthouse, Shared Services, and had an industry bus tour. This day is always focused on connecting the dots, education and careers open the doors !
