The Village of Whitehouse invited downtown building and business owners to participate in OPERATION DOWNTOWN WHITEHOUSE, a community roundtable discussion on the current health of our downtown district including beautification and economic condition.  There were two meeting dates to choose from and I attended the November 10th discussion and was very impressed with the input and comments received by the participants. Jordan Daugherty moderated and presented the material which included the Village resident survey results, along with the previous improvements made by building owners from the prior Downtown Revitalization Grant.  In case you are not aware, the Chamber has committed $17,347.20 of  in-kind services from our organization during the CDBG DT FY '10 Downtown Revitalization Program. The Chamber is currently working with the Village of Whitehouse on the Downtown Revitalization FY '08 program.  Also at the meeting, the Chamber had requests from business owners for a business directory, and more emphasis on the promotion of the downtown district.  Since that meeting, the Chamber has reacted and developed a Main Street Marketing Program and  a Capture-A-Customer(TM) program to launch in the coming weeks.  We have also partnered with The Mirror Newspaper and will  begin with low-cost, high qualtity ads in this publication to advertise and promote our local establishments, with emphasis on the Downtown district.  The Chamber is also working on producing a quarterly business directory with a map, adding a Chamber Texting(TM) platform to member websites, publishing coupon booklets through our online coupons by members, and is looking into adding some professional multi-media with storytelling and placing them on the web, and mobile through iPhones and other smart phones, to tell everyone about Whitehouse and what it has to offer.  The Chamber understands and is committed to helping our local businesses market their businesses through technology, print media, and multi-media and by offering low cost solutions to grow their business. Like anything, it is all about branding yourself, your business, and your town!  Whitehouse is a great place to live, work and play!
